Message from President
 Bonnie Chapman

Greetings Soroptimists!

Why is it so hard to run behind a car?

Because you get exhausted!

We had our first Board Meeting of 2018-19 this week and really got the ball rolling. I am looking forward to the club year getting started with all of our positive energy and plans from retreat!. I am working the final kinks out of the strategic plan you all helped create and will be presenting it to the membership soon.

Thank-you to those who have signed up to join our SI Chico team for The Walk to End Alzheimer's. We have a handful of participants so far and I'm hoping to see many more join in the coming weeks. Remember that you should join the team even if you only plan to volunteer and not do the actual walk. You can also join the team with no pressure to do lots of fundraising, every little bit helps. See the link in the eblast and details of joining our group.

If you would like to attend the District 1 meeting with us in Redding on September 15, you are ALL invited! Just let Jeanne or Miles know as they are taking sign-ups and checks ($37.00 is the cost which includes lunch).
See you at Burger Hut for our final summer lunch this week!

With Gratitude,
Soroptimist International of Chico

Looking for Program Suggestions

Hello Soroptimists,

Please contact Roseann Bradley with any program suggestions you may have
for the upcoming 2018-2019 SIChico year.

Please keep in mind relevance of the topic to SIChico.

SI Chico New Website

The Communications Committee is proud to present our new
SoroptimistChico.org website!  It is
easier to navigate and fast for all of our members to find what they need to best improve their service to Women and Girls in their communities and around the world.

The website is designed to be clean, fun and helpful. Please send all comments and complaints to  and the Communications Committee will do their best to see how to improve your experience with the website.

On our password protected Members Only page is where you will find our Roster, Handbook, Master Motion form, Region & Federation Forms, and other useful links.  The password is the year SI Chico was chartered.

The roster is in a PDF format and can be downloaded to your computer. It is alphabetized by first names. If you are looking for a particular member and don't want to scroll through 22 pages simply open it up in your Adobe Acrobat Reader, click Ctrl+F and a search box will pop up, then type the members name you are looking for.

SI Chico!

Below is the link to our team page. You can join the team here by pressing the Join Team button. Jody said that you should go ahead and join the team whether you plan to walk or volunteer. You can also simply donate to our team if you like on the same page. I hope many of you feel moved to join me on October 13 and that will also join in on helping to raise funds for our SI Chico team.

Thanks everyone!

 Soroptimist International of Chico

Joanne Edwards received this thank you for our scholarship donation to summer camp 2018.

Evite Email Picture Uploads

All of you that RSVP'd "yes" to our retreat on Evite received an email from them to share your pictures of the event by uploading them to their site.  I know some of you have and that's OK, but please don't upload them there.  They need to be uploaded to our Dropbox folder.  If you don't know how to do this or don't have the access code to get into our Dropbox account email your pictures to me at
communications@soroptimistchico.org
and I'll be happy to place them in Dropbox for you.

Thank you,

Joyce Brown

 Blue Bag Donors!

Blue Bag is a past project of Soroptimist International of Chico.  A few weeks ago Bev Rozendaal and Diane Fossum wearing their Soroptimist volunteer shirts helped to collect  food for this project.

The Chico Food Project is a fun and simple way to share food with the hungry in our community.

Dear Blue Bag Friends,

We are looking for some new Blue Bag donors. If you would like to invite any family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers to join us, please send them to chicofoodproject.org  to sign up directly and a beautiful Blue Bag will be delivered to their home.

Grateful To All,

Wendy, Francine, Peggy and Michael
