An Update from the Headmaster

Dear Families,
It seems that you can't turn on the news these days without hearing about criminal activity in St. Paul. To that end, I wanted to review with you the things we have in place to keep our students safe:
- We have a state-of-the-art security camera system, monitored by and available to administrators and specific administrative assistants during the school day. This system allows us to see inside and outside the building from one location and to record movement and review recordings as need arises.
- We have front door security for buzzing in visitors during the academic day. All exterior doors and gates are locked during the school day, and the only way to get into the building (without a key or fob) is through the main entrance via buzzer, with all visitors required to enter the main office to sign in. We only unlock exterior doors during drop-off and pick-up hours and during evening extra-curricular games, meets, and/or matches.
- During the academic day, we have a security officer named Ishmael who works as outdoor security, monitoring the safety and security of our campus.
- We practice safety checks and lockdown procedures so that all faculty, staff, and students know what to do in the event of an incident.
- We have walkie-talkies in the hands of all school administrators during the academic day so as to be available to address threats, should the need arise.
- First Responders and St. Paul Police officers are approximately 2 minutes away, in the event of any dangerous situations. We have reviewed our safety procedures with them, and they have expressed confidence in our approach.
- We will also be working with our junior high and high school students on prudential judgments anytime when leaving the school building.
If you have any questions or additional concerns, please feel free to speak with any of us administrators—Mr. Adkins, Mr. Hendrickson, Mr. Flood, Miss Larson, Ishmael (security guard), or me.
God has blessed our school, and we continue to entrust our parish and school to the intercession of the Blessed Mother.

Football Heads Back to Section Finals
Aggie football is headed back to the section championship game after Saturday night's 14-12 win over Howard Lake-Waverly! They will take on Minneapolis North this Friday at 5:00 PM at Monticello High School.

Aggies rallying together to support our troops! In a school-wide effort to pray for and thank our servicemen and women, our students wrote 193 notes of encouragement for soldiers in Afghanistan.

Come learn from a national expert the insider tips that will greatly enhance your understanding of the college process, reduce anxiety and position your child for success.
Beginning at 7:00 PM in our Helene Houle Auditorium, the presentation will cover how to avoid mistakes many families make when trying to identify colleges that are truly the right fit, a behind-the-scenes view of how financial aid really works, actionable strategies to save thousands of dollars and tips for working with your teenager on a stressful and emotional process.

All Saint's Day Party - Thursday, October 31
All families are invited to participate in the All Saints' Party on Thursday, October 31. We will begin with 5:15 PM Mass at the Church of Saint Agnes. (All are welcome to come to Mass in costume, but please leave props until the party begins in Gruden Gym). Our all Saints' Party will take place after Mass from 6:00–8:00 PM in Gruden Gym. Feel welcome to enter at Door #2 of Saint Agnes School. Both youth and adults are encouraged to dress as a favorite or an interesting Saint or Blessed. Each participating family is asked to contribute $15 and two bags of candy to cover the pizza dinner and games we will enjoy together. All-School Fundraiser Kicks Off Soon!
The past six years, Saint Agnes has participated in an all-school raffle for a new car. This raffle has been and continues to be a huge success, raising over $80,000 for Saint Agnes each year! Once again, the same donor has presented us with a vehicle to raffle off – a 2019 Ford Explorer which seats 7 and includes SecuriCode Keyless Keypad and intelligent access with push button start! Our raffle fundraiser will officially kick-off with the students and selling of tickets in late November. The SUV will be raffled off at the annual
Red & White
benefit dinner on February 8, 2020. Last year Mrs. Lori Dumas, current faculty member, won the vehicle – this year it could be you! 100% of the proceeds remain at Saint Agnes. Stay tuned for more details!

Admission Application Process Open for New 2020-21 Students!
The admissions application process is now open in TADS for the 2020-2021 academic year. We recommend that any current families with children that will be joining us next year as NEW preschool-12th grade students should apply now to reserve your seat. Note: This is NOT re-enrollment time for current Aggie students; re-enrollment will begin in January 2020. Click on the links below to learn more about the admissions process for each grade level. Box Tops Deadline - Thursday, October 31
We still accept all unexpired Box Top clips! Please submit to the school or parish office by Thursday, October 31 to make the fall submission deadline. The program is ending, and expired Box Tops will no longer be accepted after this date; please turn in however many or few you may have.

Student Fan Bus to Football Section Championship Game - Friday, November 1
A student fan bus to the section football championship game on Friday, November 1 is available for the first 38 students who sign up in the School Office. Cost is $3. The bus will leave Saint Agnes at 3:10 PM and return approximately ½ hour after the conclusion of the game.
