Re: Health Insurance informational meetings
Dear Colleagues:
During the last week of September, representatives from the Pension Boards will join Franz Rigert and Vicki Graff in hosting five regional Health Insurance informational meetings. The purpose of these gatherings is to provide an overview of UCC Health Insurance options (A, B and C), as well as details about the retiree supplemental plans (with particular regard to prescription coverage options).
We will also provide a detailed analysis, for each congregation represented, that projects insurance cost adjustments (increases or decreases) related to the ending of our Shared Cost Program. This program remains in place through 2019. Our intention is to give you helpful financial information and talking points for negotiating any changes in coverage or out-of-pocket expenses beginning in 2020. Following these regional meetings we will mail detailed information to all participating congregations and pastors not represented.
We invite active and retired clergy to attend the gathering closest to you, and we also welcome any interested spouses and lay leaders. We are grateful to welcome Mr. Frank Loiacono, who is the Pension Boards’ expert on Health Care coverage and plans, and the Rev. Richard Walters, the Pension Board’s Associate General Counsel and Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, who will offer helpful information about the UCC Pension Program. He’ll also reflect briefly on the success of our socially conscious investing initiatives.
We are offering lunch or supper at each gathering, at no cost. Also, we intend to record the meeting in DeForest for digital distribution. The registration deadline for each of the meetings is one week prior to the event, to give us time to arrange for meals for the meetings.
