Ships Store
August, 28 2018
Good day, shipmates

I know we have bombarded you with updates lately and I apologize if we've been a bother.  We just wanted to keep everyone updated on the reunion and other important items.

So, no fancy graphics this time, just the facts:
  1. Ship Store sales will be suspended as of September 1.   It is necessary that inventory be taken, all items packed for the transit to Branson and that the stock be loaded into the trailer for the journey. Any orders taken after September 1 will be fulfilled on or about October 10.
  2. Reunion T-shirt sales have also been suspended so the vendor has time to print them and we have time to confirm that they have been done in the proper quantities, quality, etc.   We will take orders at the reunion, but the price will be higher, reflecting the lower quantities and shipping. Prices will be provided in Branson.
  3. We have a deadline of Friday, August 30, to release our room block back to the Radisson. After that, they will honor our group rate on a space available basis.
  4. In the next week or so, we will have to confirm the number of participants to the folks at the Dixie Stampede, Branson Belle and the Titanic Museum so pre-payment can be arranged as well as setting aside space for our group at the events.
  5. Mid-September will be the deadline to confirm the number of people for the welcome reception, men's lunch and the banquet so the food selections we have made can be ordered.
  6. Membership Dues must be current to vote during the business meeting
Therefore, please allow me to be blunt. If you are planning on joining us in Branson, the time is NOW to register.

As a reminder, the schedule of events is:
Wednesday, September 26, 6:00 PM-Welcome Reception in Hotel
Thursday, September 27, 4:00 PM-Depart Hotel for Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede
Friday, September 28, 08:30 AM-Depart Hotel for Memorial Service followed by Branson Belle Lunch Cruise.
Saturday, September 29, 09:00 AM-Men's Business Meeting
Saturday, September 29, 10:30 AM-Ladies Depart Hotel for Titanic Museum
Saturday, September 29, 11:00 AM (approx.)-Men's Lunch
Saturday, September 29, 6:00 PM-Banquet
Sunday, September 30-Hotel Check Out and Goodbyes.

Dress for all events is casual. We encourage you to dress up for the banquet.

I can't believe how quickly the time has gone since we last got together in Charleston.   The board and I are getting excited about seeing shipmates again, especially those who will be attending their first Wainwright reunion.
Trailer Donations
The USS Wainwright Veterans Association is a 501(c) 3 non-profit association of men who served aboard any of the three USS Wainwright ships. Our association exists to keep alive the memory of all vessels named Wainwright. With our mobile museum we educate the public about what our sailors have accomplished, and or completed while onboard any of the ship's named Wainwright. This mobile museum also promotes the United States Navy and Americanism, but we cannot do this without your support. We need your donations to support cost of operating this one of a kind teaching tool. Your donations are 100% tax deductible so please be generous and help us keep our museum going. Donations can be made on our web site http://www.usswainwright.org/donate/
