Dear School Families,

The new school year is upon us! I would like to welcome back our returning St. Therese families and extend a warm welcome to all new families. I am sure you are all looking forward to another wonderful school year.

It has been a busy summer working on the important task of selecting a new principal for our school. I would like to thank the Chicago Archdiocese and our Principal Search Committee for their hard work and dedication to selecting the best leadership team for the school.

I am excited to announce that after a thorough search and evaluation process, the Principal Search Committee has chosen Ms. Lisa Deborah Oi as the next principal of St. Therese School.

I am confident that Ms. Oi will provide the excellent leadership needed to ensure that our school and community remain strong, that our teachers and staff continue to receive the leadership and guidance to be their very best, and that our students continue to benefit from rigorous academic instruction, broad faith formation programs, and special culture and community. As many of you know, Ms. Oi has served the school as both the Assistant Principal and a teacher, along with being a school parent herself and a parishioner of St. Therese Church. The Selection Committee and I therefore know that she is very well-prepared to continue to support the mission of the school. We have high hopes that she will do well in her new role as the principal of our school.

I am also pleased to announce another key decision in the school leadership structure. Ms. Jessica Stofko, our 3rd and 4th grade math and science teacher for the last two years, has been selected to serve as Assistant Principal to work alongside Ms. Oi. We are excited for this leadership team to guide the school through this upcoming school year and beyond.

Congratulations to both Ms. Oi and Ms. Stofko. I ask you to join me in wishing them the best and showing your support for them in their new roles. I will continue to work closely with them, the staff and teachers as we go through this exciting time at the school. If you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I wish all of you and your family a great school year.

Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Francis Li
Pastor
