A Summer Hello from your MDE Committee
We recently met in person (scandalous, but safely six feet apart!) to review requests received. You may remember last September, when we blessed backpacks. NW Housing Alternatives has again requested $1,000 to fund a School Supply Drive, which will purchase backpacks for local kids. While plans for school re-openings remain in-flux, backpacks never go out of style and can be used in future years.
You may be wondering what you can do to help in these turbulent times and your donation will help keep kids focused and energized about school!
Please donate. The deadline is July 30
th
.
Directions:
1) Donate online through our PayPal site, plus send an email at
saintfranciswilsonville@gmail.com
, noting this is for the MDE: NW Housing Alternatives request, (since there is no memo line on the PayPal form).
2) Mail a check to Saint Francis, PO Box 445, Wilsonville, OR 97070, in your memo line write ‘MDE: NW Housing Alternatives.’
Thank you for making a difference!
More information will come in early fall about our MDE plans for the holidays, we know the need will be much larger than in the past.

Many of you, children and adults, were filling Mite Boxes during Lent as a way of praying and caring.
Our goal was to raise enough for perhaps the donation of a goat to a family in a Third World country. Last year we sent in funds for a hive of honey bees and a flock of ducks. The animals are used to provide livelihood for families.
If there are Mite Boxes out there please return them soon, and we will make a family's life better.
You may also make a contribution to this fund
by using our Pay Pal account or sending a check. If you use PayPal please send a email to the church office stating so, as there is no designation line in PayPal:

Many thanks!!

Many thanks to Tom Over
for his ingenuity and just plain hard work rebuilding the fountain in the Bell Tower Garden. The new design will be easier to maintain and, hopefully, add soothing sound to help mask noise from the freeway.
Thank you as well to the Memorial Garden Committee members
who pruned, spread bark mulch and planted the beautiful display of annuals in the East Memorial Garden.
Restoration work and planting will continue at the appropriate time. Thanks to all involved.

St. Francis COVID-19 Relief Fund
Our vestry created a St. Francis COVID-19 Relief Fund, which will be used to provide additional financial assistance to organizations and individuals within our community. Our MDE committee has made contributions to the food banks in Wilsonville and Canby.
If you would like to contribute to this work, you can send a check to St. Francis, and in the memo line please note that the funds are for the COVID-19 Relief Fund. Our address is St. Francis of Assisi, PO Box 445, Wilsonville, OR 97070.
Or you, can make a contribution online to our PayPal account through the link above. PayPal does not offer a memo line; so simply email us to let us know if you have made a PayPal contribution for the COVID-19 Relief Fund. You can email us at

***Reservations are required for in-person services
Due to the limit of 25 people per service during Phase I,
reservations must be made by emailing the church office, with a deadline of Friday by 3:00 pm.
Reservations are first come, first serve, for individuals or family units. You will have to make a new reservation every week. A waiting list will be made. If you are unable to attend after making a reservation, please email the church office so someone on the waiting list may attend the in-person service.
Those on the waiting list will be put at the top of the reservation list for the next week. If you cannot or do not want to attend the following week, please notify the church office.
Attendance requirements:
·
You MUST wear a mask at all times.
Masks will be available, but please try to bring your own. They cannot be returned.
·
Come early. You will need to wait in line outside, standing six feet apart, while everyone is checked off the list.
·
You must check in at the door and have your name checked off as being in attendance in case contact tracing is required.
·
Ushers will escort everyone to a seat so that spacing between people will be at least six feet. You must sit in the seat assigned to you by the usher. The ushers will be seating from the front of the church to the back, so you may not be able to sit in your usual church seat during this phase of re-opening.
·
In such a small group, late arrivals can be distracting, so there will be no seating five minutes after the service has begun.
·
To maintain social distancing, please remain in your seat during the service except for coming forward for communion.
·
While there will be music at the services, there will be no singing at the in-person services until further notice.
·
There will be no coffee hour, and everyone is to exit through the handicapped door at the north side of the building.
·
There will be no access to the Memorial Garden through the Narthex.
These rules may seem a little harsh, and they are certainly not ideal, but we hope that they will just be temporary. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
