OID becomes ODS

This month, the Office of Intellectual Disability (OID) debuted its new name: Office of Developmental Supports (ODS)
Former foster youth speaks at HUD event

July 24 marked the first anniversary of Foster Youth to Independence (FYI), an initiative designed to prevent or end homelessness among young adults who are in, or have recently left, the foster care system and have nowhere to go. The occasion was commemorated with a roundtable that featured U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson; U.S. Senator Pat Toomey; local leaders; and Leibrynn, a college student who is using the voucher to bridge the gap while she finishes school
New program aids renters, landlords

Allegheny County, in partnership with community providers, is offering help to people who are experiencing job loss or loss of income as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and are behind on their rent

Video series educates youth about mental health

Several DHS staff members from the Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF); Integrated Program Services (IPS); and the Youth Support Partners (YSP) unit have partnered with staff at A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI) to create a series of videos designed to support and educate youth on topics related to mental and behavioral health
