News You Can Use...
In the spring parent survey, someone questioned the value of project based learning and its impact on covering the curriculum. Project based learning is a teaching model for instruction of gifted students. The topics and teachers' development and application of knowledge and skills come directly from the curriculum. Additionally, the collegial sharing experienced by teachers strengthens the vertical alignment of objectives, increases teacher understanding of what student products/outcomes should look like both above and below level (this supports differentiation - especially for the above level students), and makes learning more meaningful for students because of all the cross-curricular connections that are built into the products. Questions are always welcome. Thank you for asking!
