2018 PARK(ing) DAY 9.21
In urban centers around the world, inexpensive curbside parking results in increased traffic, wasted fuel and more pollution. The strategies and values that generate these conditions are no longer sustainable, nor do they promote a healthy, vibrant urban human habitat. It’stime
to rethink the way streets are used and to re-imagine the possibilities of the urban landscape!

This packet has all the pertinent information for companies interested in signing up for a space. It also has the date and time of the informational conference call. Email  ncasla.clt@gmail.com for more info. We would request their top 3 spaces in case their first preference is already reserved.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
We are currently witnessing the largest wave of urban growth in human history. The nature and scope of this shift varies across the globe, but economic development and consumption are altering the quality of life for city dwellers and rural communities, bringing disproportional prosperity to some, while increasing inequality for many.
We invite submissions that address one or more of these topics for affecting social change at the material scale, at the building scale, or at the community scale.

ENGAGING WITH YOUR CIVIC LEADERS
The goal of AIA's public awareness campaign, Blueprint for Better, is for architects to have a seat at the table when important civic decisions are made, and for members of our profession to be ready to speak to the value that architects bring to our communities. We want to ensure that your voice is heard, so we've developed a toolkit will show you how to engage with civic leaders at the local, state, and federal levels to drive real change in your community.

LIVING IN A (HEALTHIER) MATERIALS WORLD
Living in a (healthier) materials world:The AIA Healthier Materials Protocol provides a stepwise method for setting healthier materials goal and criteria definitions, product selection, tracking, and specification, no matter the scope of the project. It also suggests tools and provides case studies to assist with each step. The user-friendly guide is written to meet you where you are!
