Last week, new sports rules were passed for two NAIA sports:
 
NEW: Montreat Lacrosse Players Featured in ESPN Film lacrosse 

Five Montreat College (Montreat, N.C.) lacrosse freshmen will be featured in the ESPN Films documentary  "Crossroads", premiering Thursday, Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN. The film is directed by Emmy Award-winning sports documentary producer Ron Yassen and executive produced by Houston Rockets star and North Carolina native Chris Paul. NEW:  Online Interpretations Library Launched library 

The Interpretations Library is the centralization of rulings that illustrate specific applications of NAIA bylaws in an easy-to-use format for NAIA members. Please see the "About" page for further guidance on how to use the library.

NEW:  NAIA Host Excellence Award Winners host 

The NAIA is proud to announce this year's winners of the 2017-18 NAIA National Championship Host Excellence Awards. Seven honors were awarded to championship site hosts that have gone above and beyond in their execution of their event during the 2017-18 school year. Congratulations! 

 
NEW:  Stretch Internet Championship Pass Available stretch 
 
For the second-consecutive year, the NAIA and official streaming partner Stretch Internet will be offering an All-Championship Streaming Pass for the 2018-19 season. For $100, fans can purchase a pass to watch 24 of the NAIA's championship final site streams, excluding opening rounds. This price point provides significant savings for fans who watch multiple championship events. 

 
NEW:  New Fee Waiver Policy Effective Oct. 1 waiver 

A new provision in the Higher Education Act, as directed by federal interpretation, restricts a student's federal financial aid information from being shared with organizations such as the NAIA, regardless of the student issuing consent. The NAIA Eligibility Center has consulted with NASFAA to inform appropriate changes to our fee waiver policy in response to the changes in federal regulation. As a result, the eligibility center will implement a new fee waiver policy on Oct. 1, 2018 as outlined in the latest NAIA Membership Guide.

 
NEW:  Welcome Pete Scantlebury pete 

Pete Scantlebury joined the NAIA national office staff as the manager of athletics communications in August. Pete comes to the NAIA with more than ten years as a media professional with experience in multimedia reporting, editing, and content strategy. Most recently, he was the digital strategist for Cox Media Group in Atlanta, Ga. Pete graduated from the University of Missouri and covered football and basketball as the managing editor of PowerMizzou.com.
 
NEW:  Men's Basketball All-Star Game Returnsallstar 

The 2019 Men's Basketball All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, March 26 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The event is in conjunction with the NAIA's 2019 DI Men's Basketball National Championship and will be played immediately prior to the championship final. All 2018-19 NAIA men's, senior basketball players, from both divisions I and II, are eligible to be nominated. For more information, contact Austin Bennett at 816.595.8109.

Drug Testing Update drug 
 
The National Drug Testing & Education (NDT&E) policy was updated to adjust the timing of medical exemptions for anabolic agents and peptide hormones. Medical exemptions no longer need to be submitted until an athlete tests positive at a national championship. For more info, check out the NAIA Student Wellness Center and FAQs.
 
EC Summer Transcript Deadline transcript

Official transcripts complete through summer 2018 coursework will be required by the NAIA Eligibility Center starting Sept. 1, 2018 in order for students to be placed in line for review. Students with summer 2018 enrollment who do not submit complete transcripts will not be placed in line for review. More information regarding submitting transcripts can be found here .
