News & Events
Summer Work Study
Bishop Chatard's Work Study program will look different this year. At this time, the school is looking for signups for potential upcoming special projects in order to prepare for the school's reopening. If we decide to use students, we will observe all mask & social distancing measures. We are inquiring at this time to determine which students might be available to help in the coming weeks.

Please click here to fill out the Work Study Survey, if you are interested. This is open to all students, but preferences will be given to students receiving financial aid. For more information, contact Director of Business Operations Dan Thompson at dthompson@bishopchatard.org .
Financial Aid Appointments are now available
Every family who will be receiving ANY financial aid for the 2020/2021 school year MUST make a Financial Aid Appointment during the summer to complete the applications for ‘vouchers’ (Indiana Choice Scholarships) and SGOs (tax credit scholarships). Register for your appointments with the Business Office today. July/August appointments will be virtual at this point. Appointments will last about 30 minutes.

For all appointments, make sure you have uploaded all pages of 2019 Federal Tax Returns to your financial aid application. This step should be completed at least one full week before your scheduled appointment. If you are not applying for financial aid, but just intend to receive a voucher, please email your entire 2019 Federal Tax Return to Nancy Meiner at  nmeiner@bishopchatard.org again, leaving at least a week between submitting your tax return via email and the appointment you select. Specific details about your appointment will be emailed to you the week before your scheduled appointment.  Click here for more information and to schedule your appointment.
2020 Back-to-School Registration
PowerSchool Registration for the 2020-2021 school year will open mid to late July. An email will be sent to all parents when the site is open. This registration process provides an opportunity for each family to update important personal contact information and complete critical back-to-school documents. All back-to-school documents and the PowerSchool electronic signature must be completed by the first day of school.

Parents of the Class of 2024 and new incoming transfer students will receive two emails. The first email will give instructions on how to create your Parent PowerSchool Portal before registration is open and the second email will be letting you know that registration is now open. More information will be coming soon!
2020/2021 Immunization Information
Please check with your health provider to make sure that your son or daughter is up to date on immunizations for the 2020-2021 school year. Click the button below to view the State of Indiana School Requirements for 2020-2021.

Attention: Class of 2020 Parents
Please follow up with your child's physician for any missing immunizations. These will be needed for college. Some students were missing documentation for various immunizations, specifically hepatitis A and meningococcal. Meningitis B is only recommended for grade 12, but may be required for college.
Free and Reduced Price School Meal Program
Bishop Chatard participates in the National School Lunch Program which provides free or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch to those students who qualify. Any parent who believes a student may qualify for this program and other benefits it offers, such as textbook assistance, may apply. A new application must be completed each year to be included in the program. If your situation changes, applications can be made at any time throughout the school year. If a student qualifies for free/reduced lunches, he/she automatically qualifies for textbook assistance. Parents can begin making their applications on July 10 . Click here for more information.
News from the Tech Counter
Bishop Chatard did not collect student iPads this summer. All students are asked to prepare for the upcoming school year by reading and following the 2020 Summer iPad Care instructions which can be found here .

Become a Host Family
Two of our international students, both seniors, are in need of host families for the 2020-2021 school year. Evan has been at BCHS since freshman year, and David has been with us since sophomore year. At this point, we are unsure whether they will be allowed to return in the Fall, but to keep in step with rapidly changing directives, it is important that they have a safe, loving home to come to when they return for their final months as Bishop Chatard family members, whether it is in August or January.

Host families receive $700 monthly to support housing their student or twice that if you have room for both! Host families do not need to have students currently at BCHS. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more, Please contact BCHS counselor Catherine Welch at  cwelch@bishopchatard.org .

BCHS Athletics During the Pandemic
BCHS is now able to allow athletic teams to meet following the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) guidelines, including a three-phased pathway for the return of education-based athletics. Athletic Director Mike Ford has created an outline of the three-phased pathways of return. Please take the time to read this plan, for the answers to many of your questions. Ticket to Play for the 2020/21 school year
Two required forms (IHSAA Physical and BCHS Eligibility) must be on file at BCHS to receive your ‘Ticket to Play.’ This is required before taking part in any summer conditioning, tryouts or sports.
