Ms. Zaldua's Message
Good evening parents,
We had a smooth Opening of School, and as I visited classes throughout the day today I can see students were having a wonderful First Day of School.
As a reminder, tomorrow we will implement our car pool procedures. We will NOT open the field tomorrow. The campus will continue to be open to parents for arrival through the end of the week.
However, after the 1
st
week of school, on Monday, August 27, arrival procedures will change. As a newly closed campus, parents will not be allowed to walk their students to class. Therefore, parents MUST drop off student(s) at the parent drop off location via car or walking on SW 102nd Street, SW 104th Street or SW 57
th
Avenue starting at 7:45 AM where they will be supervised by school staff as they walk to class.
- Parents of students who need continuous supervision, including Pre-K and Kg, will be directed to drop off their child at the door on the North side of the 57th Avenue circular driveway entrance.
- Special Area teachers will be assigned to supervise students in the cafeteria as they eat breakfast and wait for their teachers to pick them up.
- Students dropped off by bus will enter through SW 104th Street.
- All students in First Grade will wait for their teachers outside their classrooms inside the 700 building.
- Students in Second through Fifth Grade will be directed to the field/shelter area.
Parent dismissal procedures remain the same. Students will exit at their dismissal locations as stipulated on the parent handbook. All parents will be directed to pick up students at the parent pick up locations for each grade level via car on SW 104
th
Street, SW 102nd Street, or 57
th
Avenue. There will be no access to the building unless through the Raptor system located at the single point entry through the 57
th
Avenue entrance.
Please support us as we continue to make safety a priority for all students and staff.
Sincerely,
Lynn Zaldua
