The Summer Backpack Program has already made a big impact on families in Lee County. Over 100 volunteers finished packing food boxes for the students this past Saturday, to finish out the summer through the end of July. Read this touching testimonial from a grandmother who picked up her box last Monday:
"Thank you for the food box. It helps out so much. I've been raising my Grandson on my own since he was a baby with no child support or any help from anyone. I've raised him thru 3rd stage aggressive breast cancer, a severe allergic reaction to Taxotere chemo that nearly took my life, gangrene in my chest and multiple pulmonary emboli due to a botched reconstruction surgery, ecoli in my damaged lung and so much more. Thru it all my Grandson's love and God's Holy Love and Grace have seen me thru. We still struggle even for the basic necessities but the food boxes help to feed him. Thank You So Much again and May God Bless You All!!!"
And these kids were excited to take a selfie with one of our volunteers who delivered their boxes to their home!
