A Note from Mrs. Ryan
Dear Parents,

This morning we welcomed twenty-two new Kindergartners and fifteen new First through Eighth Graders into our school. Thank you to all of you who served as buddy families to help the newest members of our community become acclimated.

Mrs. Szczech and Mrs. Haley are thrilled with their brand new classrooms. If you were on campus this morning you were able to see the progress being made on our new lunch structure. Students will likely be able to eat lunch there beginning sometime next week.

Our School-wide theme for 2018 - 2019 is "Virtues - Being Our Best for God".  This theme coincides with a diocesan-wide initiative on Catholic virtues. We will be using a program developed by the Dominican Sisters of Nashville which covers 27 virtues over a three-year cycle, with a variety of saints held up as models of each virtue. Each month our entire student-body will study a particular virtue through age-appropriate religion lessons. The particular virtues for this school year are faith, gratitude, stewardship, generosity, reverence, honesty, mercy, justice, and zeal. If you would like to explore this program further, here is the link:

Many of you joined us for morning assembly in the gym at 8:10 this morning. Please feel free to attend morning assembly in the days to come and pray with us. In a few weeks we will transition to conducting morning assembly over our closed circuit TV system.

Dismissal went smoothly for the first day and will likely go more quickly once we begin after school tutorials. Although school is out at 2:50 PM, there is supervision until 3:25 PM. Parents who arrive between 3:00 and 3:15 PM usually find that there is very little traffic and they are in and out of the circle in just a few minutes.

It was wonderful to see your lovely children today, ready to get back to learning and classroom routines. We are looking forward to a great year and, once construction is complete, a very normal one.

Principal
St. Rose School
