Calabasas, CA, August 14, 2018:  The Bio Supply Management Alliance (BSMA) has appointed senior executives to the prestigious Advisory Board to advance its mission to foster collaboration for greater efficiency, agility, integrity and technology adoption in the supply chain of Life Sciences.

Kimberly Lounds Foster , Corporate Vice President of Global Commercial Supply , is responsible for leading an integrated supply chain, strategic sourcing and manufacturing operations. Celgene develops and manufactures products on multiple technology platforms, including small molecules, biologics and cell therapies.  Prior to Celgene, Kimberly was Head of Global Supply Chain for Novartis’ Cell & Gene Therapy unit where she built the commercial and clinical autologous supply chain across thirteen countries for CTL019. Kimberly spent over six years at Sandoz where she built the External Supplier Operations function for the North America & LatAm markets following a ‘virtual plant’ model. Kimberly has served Catalent Pharma Solutions, Baxter Healthcare, Accenture and Merck. Kimberly holds an M.B.A from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University.
Neil Ackerman is the Senior Director, Global Supply Chain Enterprise Plan and Innovation at Johnson and Johnson across Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and Consumer Products. Neil is responsible for accelerating supply chain digital innovation and enablement of advanced planning worldwide. This includes all digital supply chain transformations such as the use of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cognitive Automation. Neil and his team are critical in bringing value based prototyping to life within Johnson and Johnson and beyond. Neil and his team have been recognized for their focus on Millennial leadership within supply chain, leading a top-tier graduate team to win a MIT Supply Chain Initiative focused on Demand Sensing and Artificial Intelligence. He has a Master of Science in Management of Information Technology from University of Virginia and Executive Management from MIT.
Ed Arnheiter possesses a unique combination of industry, consulting, and higher education experience, spanning a thirty-year period. Ed is an assistant professor of operations management at the Eberhardt School of Business, University of the Pacific. In addition , he is an adjunct professor at Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences . Earlier he taught at Drexel University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has served Industry for eleven years as a Quality Manager for Titleist, a Quality Engineer at GE Aerospace, and a Senior Quality Engineer for Spalding Sports. He is the principal consultant for Arnheiter Consulting, LLC, which focuses on the implementation and use of Lean Sigma improvement methods. Ed has earned a Ph.D. in industrial engineering & operations research, and a master of science in engineering management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Union College.
Chris Horan joined Dermira in 2018 as Chief Technical Operations Officer and is responsible for the Pharmaceutical Sciences, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality functions. Prior to Dermira, Chris spent nearly 14 years at Genentech (a member of the Roche Group) in roles of increasing responsibility within its Operational Excellence, Procurement, Supply Chain and Technical Operations functions. He most recently served as Senior Vice President, Global Product and Supply Chain Management where he led a 480-person team supplying all of Roche biopharma products worldwide. Prior to Genentech, he worked for Merck & Company in global roles across Engineering, Manufacturing and Operational Excellence. Chris earned a B.E. in engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.
Phillip Shaw is the Director of Global Supply Chain at Gilead Sciences . Phil has over 25 years of experience in Pharmaceutical, Parenteral, Medical Device and Nutrition manufacturing. His first role with Gilead was in the API Outsourcing Manufacturing group. Today his responsibilities include all finished product deliveries, CMO management, inventory analysis and the roll out of the Rapid Response planning tool. Prior to joining Gilead, Phillip has spent 25 with Abbott Laboratories He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL
