Dates and Deadlines
August 15 Fall Tuition Bill Due. Log into Gibson Online to view and pay your Student Account bill.

August 15 Deadline to waive or decline the Tulane-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan (T-SHIP) before you are automatically charged and enrolled.

August 21 - Deadline to complete the online wellness education courses (sexual violence and alcohol modules).


Move-In Day is only a week away and we can't wait to welcome y'all as our Class of 2022! As you make your final preparations, you are likely filled with varying emotions.Transitions will do that! Rest assured that whether you are excited, nervous, or stress-free, you will be greeted on Move-In Day by the TU Move Krewe, your Resident Advisor, Wave Leaders, and a community ready to help you get acclimated to your new home.

This issue is all about making sure to get all of your to-dos checked off before you arrive on campus. Check out the highlights below, the "Dates and Deadlines" section and our updated Class of 2022 Checklist to make sure you're ready to Roll Wave! It's especially important that you download the Tulane Orientation App before coming to campus.

We look forward to your arrival next week and to kicking off New Student Orientation (#TUNSO18) and  Fall Welcome (#TUFW18). So many opportunities await you (#Tulane2022) and we can't wait to share in the excitement.

ACTION ITEM: Download the Tulane Orientation App
The Tulane Orientation app is your one-stop shop for staying connected during New Student Orientation (NSO) and Fall Welcome. Use the app to check out the NSO AND Fall Welcome schedules! Once NSO begins, you'll use the app to communicate with your Wave Leader, build a schedule, and stay connected. 

Download the Tulane Orientation App in the Apple app store or  Google Play store now! Follow these steps to download:
  • Search TU Welcome or Tulane Orientation  
  • Download the app  
  • Tap "next" 
  • Select role as "student" 
  • Tap "sign up with email" 
  • Create an account using your tulane.edu email address 
  • Once you've created an account, you'll receive an email with a verification code.
  • Type the verification code back into the app and complete the rest of the login process

Check your SPAM/Junk folder for the verification email. If you experience trouble, call our office at (504) 865-5180 and we can help verify your account. 

Accessible Programming at New Student Orientation

Tulane Reading Project
Have you finished the Reading Project book, Beartown by Fredrik Backman, yet? By now, you should be wrapping up the book and preparing to participate in a discussion group with your new classmates and a faculty member during New Student Orientation! Don't forget about this year's keynote lecture delivered by Don McPherson titled "Football to Feminism and the Blindspot of Masculinity" on Tuesday, September 4 at 6pm in McAlister Auditorium.
Freshman Leadership Program 2018-2019
The Freshman Leadership Program is designed to support, engage, and educate future leaders in the Tulane community. Applications are open and due on Sunday, September 9. Apply through your OrgSync portal here!
Campus Rec Fall Event Calendar
Save the date for the most popular and widely-attended student events at Tulane University. Students looking for late night activities, fitness opportunities, or fun and relaxation can find something at TU Rec. All events are FREE for Tulane students with a valid Splash ID. Check our website reilycenter.com for a complete listing of all our fall events!
 
ROCK THE REC!
Saturday, August 25 | 8:30 pm-midnight | Reily Student Recreation Center
One of our favorite New Student Orientation events! Try new fitness classes, compete in sports challenges, taste some local cuisine, and even hold a baby alligator!
 
Group Exercise Challenge: 9/1- 9/28  - Enjoy a  month long Bingo challenge combining the rules of bingo with great ways to get active. Pick up a card at the front desk to participate! 
 
Dive-In Movie: 9/2 -  Float on an inner-tube or lounge poolside while enjoying Deadpool 2 in our indoor pool.
 
Late Night Rock Climb: Spend the evening of 9/7 rock climbing with Outdoor Adventures when we travel to New Orleans Boulder Lounge. 
 
Campus Cup: Teams of first year students will participate in a variety of challenges to earn points that will lead to their resident hall being crowned Tulane Campus Cup champs! 
Trivia Contest - 9/8 Glow in the Dark Dodgeball - 9/14 | Campus Cup Championship - 9/15
 
S'mores with Outdoors: Come hang with TU Outdoor Adventures on 9/20 while we roast up some s'mores around the fire pits. 
 
Paddleboard Yoga: Engage your core to keep you balanced and rejuvenate your mind with the soothing sounds of water on 9/24! Great for beginners and Yogis alike.
Fall Welcome Event Highlight: Outreach Tulane
Get excited:  Outreach Tulane, the university's largest and longest-running day of service, will be held on Saturday, September 1! In its 28th year, Outreach Tulane brings together more than 1,000 students, staff, and faculty to dedicate their time to community organizations across New Orleans. Volunteers will work on projects ranging from urban garden renewals to community center cleanups to elementary school renovations and much more! Register here!
Choose Your Own College Adventure: SOC Open House
Want to explore how you can get involved on campus? Want to learn about student organizations, campus events, Greek life, and more?  The SOC Open House is Thursday, August 23 from 8:30-10:30am in the  Student Organization Center (SOC) on the garden level of the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life. The Tulane Hullabaloo Semester Journalism Experience
If you're interested in journalism, social media, photography, design, or any other aspect of online or print newspaper production, apply for The Tulane Hullabaloo Semester Journalism Experience. Up to 15 students will be selected to participate in the semester-long program which will blend learning about journalism and modern media practices with hands-on experience all under the guidance of senior Hullabaloo staff.
