Photography Ministry Needs YOU!
St. Bart's is an active church, but you already know this. What may not realize is that the photos of church events are taken by volunteer photographers. If you have a camera - point and shoot, DSLR, or phone camera - we need you to take photos at St. Bart's events. How do you get the photos to us? We're very flexible. You can email photos to us, share the photos using a files sharing program (Dropbox or Google Drive), or directly upload photos to Flickr. Training can be provided in person or over the phone if needed. Contact Kristeen Evans to be added to the photographers list. You'll receive an email prior to St. Bart's events to see who is attending and able to take photos.

Being Mortal: Film & Panel Discussion
Tuesday, October 29, 6-8 p.m., Youth/MPR
Together we will view he Frontline video Being Mortal based on the bestselling book of the same name by renowned New Yorker writer and Boston surgeon Dr. Atul Gawande. It follows Dr. Gawande as he explores the relationships doctors have with patients who are nearing the end of life. The film investigates the practice of caring for the dying, and shows how doctors are often remarkably untrained, ill-suited and uncomfortable talking about chronic illness and death with their patients.

Following the video we will have a panel discussion with Ms. Arlene Cramer, RN, Mr. Joe Mayer, a pastoral counselor, and the Rev. Canon Allisyn Thomas, with a question and answer period. While the topic of the evening can be difficult, we see that with compassion and honesty, the end of life can be one of peace and profound love. If you have questions, please contact the Rev. Canon Allisyn Thomas .
Diversity Workshop
Saturday, October 26, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

This workshop is limited to 24 participants and consists of two, four-hour sessions. Participation will be first-come, first-served. RSVP to Beth Dean

The workshop is designed to:
  • explore what we mean by diversity and inclusion
  • create awareness by each participant about their own connections and limitations regarding tolerance and diversity issues
  • recognize and identify barriers to inclusion
  • identify things we can do to truly make St. Bart’s welcome to all
