Monthly Counseling Newsletter
Here is a link to the Back to School (August) issue of the monthly counseling newsletter, 
Life in the Middle.  This issue  contains valuable information, including important dates, Dragon Camp, Schedules, and Schedule Change Requests.
 
In the months to come, the newsletter will focus on a specific theme that we will be addressing with students and staff as well as containing pertinent information about happenings at CMS.

Locker Set Up 
Locker numbers will be on student schedules.  Students may bring their school supplies to locker set up.  If they are unable to attend locker set up, they can bring their school supplies the 1st day of school.

Lower Lockers (Even #'s) - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m

How can my child meet with their counselor?
There are several ways students can see us:
1. Teacher Referral
2. Parent Referral
3. Self Referral

We meet with students for many reasons:
1. Academic - Performance, struggles, test taking strategies, study skills etc.
2. Friendship/ Peer/Social Concerns
3. Personal Concerns
4. Behavioral Concerns
5. Stress/Anxiety
6. Responsive Services - meeting their immediate needs and concerns

If you have a concern and you would like for a counselor to meet with your child, please contact your child's grade level counselor via email or phone.

Office News
Immunizations
Please review the  immunization requirements  for all 7th grade students. Students must have their updated immunization record on file before they will be allowed to attend school.  Nurse Susan Bonczyk will be available at Dragon Camp and throughout the week to accept immunization records.

Annual Student Verification
Parents of all Carroll ISD students (including new enrollees) are required to complete verification for each of their students annually prior to the first day of school.  This process is completed through the district's Skyward Family Access portal.

The registration process will include many of the steps required for secondary parents and students to receive a fast pass for their  laptop delivery date. Completing these steps during verification will allow students to move through the deployment process much faster.

The Annual Student Verification will be available online through Sunday, August 19 within  Skyward Family Access.  Once in Skyward Family Access, please select the "Annual Student Verification" button.

Parents who have students that are first-year Carroll ISD student, they will need to complete the  New Student Enrollment before completing the Annual Student Registration.

Physicals and Other Required Forms for Athletic Participants
Every CISD student-athlete must have a cleared medical exam and submit it to the school prior to tryouts and participation dated after April 15.  

Also required:  UIL Acknowledgement of Rules Form, CISD Athletic Participation Release, UIL Concussion Acknowledgement, and Sport Specific Cautionary Statement.

If your child will NOT BE ATTENDING Carroll ISD next school year, 201 8-2019, please complete the Summer Withdrawal Form and return to Leslie Evans at
