June 2020
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We continue to pray you are safe and well.

A huge welcome to the Class of 2020 graduates who are now officially part of our alumni family. This edition features lots of links to their stories and virtual celebrations; check out their accomplishments! God’s special protection and blessings to all of you.

In the midst of the turmoil and change caused by COVID-19, and with the civil protests and ongoing unrest in our nation and world, we come before the LORD and pray for peace, healing, and a unified path forward. President Ferry wrote an inspiring message to all Concordians (see story below), with the assurance that we “will be part of the change our communities seek.” Alumni are encouraged to be part of the change through sharing your ideas, resources, and prayers within our CUW community and wherever you live. Please send us an email if you would like to submit a special prayer request, or if you would enjoy receiving recommendations for further reading.

Our plans are to resume face-to-face instruction on campus this fall. Our students have already chosen the theme for our upcoming academic year, and it so perfectly speaks to our hearts: God's Peace In A Troubled World , based on John 16:33 , " I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart, I have overcome the world.” May this verse be a reminder of the strength and certainty we have in our Go d.

Best wishes to you and your families this summer and always.
An evening of
listening and understanding
The CUW Black Student Union recently hosted its first of multiple discussions called “The Effects of Racial Inequality on College Students.” The discussion was hosted by Eugene Pitchford, Steve Gerner, and student De'Shawn Ford, pictured here. Get a recap on the discussion, and sign up for a future discussion here.
Words of encouragement
from our president
“God is in that City; and it will never be destroyed.” —Psalm 46:5

During these strange times, Rev. Dr. Patrick Ferry offers us all inspiring words of encouragement and how we, as Christians, should respond to what is happening in society. Click here to read the letter.
Concordia, business partners quintuple Covid mask production
Thanks to generous donors, the Concordia Community Mask Project has multiplied its production by 5! These masks are offered to anyone in the community who needs them, free of charge. Click here to learn more.
Do you know a future Concordian?
Do you have a high school student looking to get a jump start on college or know a student who is ready for the challenge of college level courses? Concordia University’s pre-college program offers high school students (grades 9-12) opportunities to earn college credits while still in high school at a fraction of the traditional undergraduate cost. Our courses can be completed online or on campus at CUW Mequon. For more information on course offerings and applying, please contact Sarah Kitterman. Also take a look at the information online.
Virtual graduation rewind:
A week of celebrating CUW’s spring 2020 graduates
In arguably the most uncommon manner in university history, CUW again fulfilled its mission by ushering in the latest cohort of graduates who are poised to go out and impact the world. Take a look here to get behind the scenes and to read about several of our outstanding graduates.
Attention, Class of 1971!
We need your help
We are looking for members of the Class of 1971 Junior College who would be willing to help plan their 50th reunion. A committee meets to plan all of the fun details. To volunteer or for more information, please email alumni@cuw.edu.
Please stay connected
During these strange times, we want you to know that you are not alone. Of course, the Lord is always with you. Know that you can also stay connected to fellow alumni and Concordia through our alumni platform called CUW Connect. Receive or give career advice; network; give or receive resume help; chat with former roommates (if they have joined); get connected to job boards. If you are already a member, don't forget to jump on every once and awhile. If you are not a member, it is free and easy to join. Just click the button to the right.
Opportunities to Participate!
Due to the uncertainty brought to us by the coronavirus, please stay tuned to our event listing on the   CUW website   for updates regarding upcoming events.
