Tuesdays | Drop-In Discussion: What Does #DefundThePolice Actually Mean?
When we first started using the phrases "White Supremacy" and "White Privilege" we talked about how it made us uncomfortable, but we were committed to hearing what our siblings of color meant and what they asked of us. Once again, let us explore together what we are learning about this movement, and do the work so we can hear what is being asked of us. Rev. Michelle to facilitate. Drop-In Discussions are back with a virtual spin! We are meeting on Tuesday night, from 6:30-7:30pm. Contact DropInDiscussion@uuroc.org for the Zoom link!

2020 General Assembly | June 24-28
Regarding this year's General Assembly this month, the UUA has voted enthusiastically to hold the conference online: More than 2,000 people had already pre-registered before this period of physical distancing. If you are interested in becoming a delegate, please contact Joy Leccese for more info. Email coachingjoy@gmail.com, or office@uuroc.org.

Calling All Musicians!
As we begin summer services this week, we are asking YOU to share your musical gifts. All voices and instruments are welcome. Participants should be able and willing to share their music from home. This can be done live over Zoom, or in the form of a pre-recorded performance. If you are interested and need an accompaniment track our music director can record one in advance. Please contact our Music Director, Brock Tjosvold, at music@uuroc.org for more information.

Help Our Summer Garden!
Call for garden watering. The front garden is blooming and we will need waterers starting in July. Please contact Sarah at garden@uuroc.org .

June 1 to July 31 | RAIHN Matching Donation Fund
Help support families in need! While congregations are closed due to COVID-19, RAIHN* is still supporting houseless families including housing some in a cost-efficient motel. Funds are needed to
support the effort. An anonymous donor will match up to $3000 in gifts to RAIHN made between June 1 and July 31. This will be a tremendous help to families in need. Please consider a
donation. To donate online, go to the uuroc.org website and click on the donate button at the bottom of the homepage. In the “write a note” section under the donation amount please write “ RAIHN First Universalist”. Checks can also be made out to First Universalist with “ RAIHN First UU” on the memo line. Contact Marti Eggers, Ed Deller, Chris DeGolyer or Connie Valk for more details.

June 25 | UU the Vote Phone Banking Training with Interfaith Community
We may not be able to go out, but we can still speak up! As a collaboration between the Jewish Federation, First Universalist, First Unitarian, and RocACTS, we are excited to invite you to join us this coming week as we launch our effort for voter inclusion across the United States. We are phone banking with Reclaim Our Vote, an organization doing work around voter disenfranchisement nationwide in communities of color, and we need YOUR voice to help those who have been unjustly removed from voter rolls.

Please join us via Zoom for a Phone Banking orientation on Thursday, June 25th at 6-7pm. We will teach you the steps of phone banking, answer questions, and even phone bank on the call to show you what this work looks like in action! If you are interested, please register at:

This is an ongoing effort! While this is our first phone banking orientation, it will not be our last. Following the orientation, we will continue to schedule regular check-in calls to discuss our work, share our experiences, and communicate best practices! If you have any questions, please contact us at minister@uuroc.org .
