This summer was a busy one at South Carolina Community Loan Fund! The season revolved around a critical component of our work- technical assistance.

In June, we hosted the LEAP Orangeburg Pitch Night, and 19 entrepreneurs from 15 businesses presented their completed business plans for a chance to win $10,000. LEAP, one of our newest technical assistance programs, is an 8-week course created to support minority- and women-owned business owners. LEARN MORE ABOUT LEAP

In July, we conducted our annual demand survey. Your insight was invaluable- you showed us that while barriers to financing like a lack of equity persist, there are others we can tackle together right now: knowledge, skill, and network gaps. In fact, the majority of respondents who successfully financed their projects received technical assistance before or during the application process. READ THE SURVEY REPORT

In August, tickets to the Investing in Community Summit went on sale! We have worked to create an event that helps bridge the gaps we learned about through the demand survey. We are looking forward to gathering in Columbia this December for two days of knowledge-sharing, learning, and networking that will help us invest in community together.
