Featured STARR Certified Sites
We are thrilled to welcome the three CNS Healthcare sites
to the STARR Certified Site Community!
Since 1996,
CNS Healthcare
has been a dependable research partner for sponsors and CRO’s. With three independent research centers located in Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL, and Memphis, TN, the CNS Healthcare staff is dedicated to the highest integrity, quality and ethical standards, without exception.
The CNS Healthcare Site Support team works hand-in-hand with each site's clinical teams to enhance operations, quality assurance, regulatory, marketing, business development, accounting and information technology at each research site. This team brings together highly experienced and specialized professionals who have decades of experience in their respective fields as well as healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

We recognize that mental health clinical research is a particularly challenging area within research so we’ve brought together stakeholders from pharma, CRO’s, and sites to identify some obstacles and challenges unique to CNS research.
The STARR Site Certification is a result of these conversations.
The main reason to be STARR Certified is to be part of a network of stakeholders that are employing standardized best practices within their organizations and are advancing mental health clinical research by:
- cultivating community engagement;
- promoting research as an option for all;
- strengthening communication between research site staff and patients, caregivers, and advocacy groups;
- sharing their expertise with fellow sites within the STARR community.
Everything The STARR Coalition does comes from our stakeholders looking to make positive change.

Advocacy organizations in your community need you now more than ever before...
"We have seen a 300% increase in the number of people reaching out to us for mental health assistance", stated Greg Hansch, Executive Director of NAMI Texas. This is a pattern echoed by mental health organizations across the United States. Other leading advocates are seeing an increase in the number of those being diagnosed with serious symptoms related to mental health disorders since the COVID-19 lock down.
All of this as we enter the time of the year when mental health advocacy organizations host their biggest annual fundraising events. As with many public events this year, they are being postponed or cancelled. With demand for advocacy services skyrocketing, they are looking for new partners and resources.
If you or your organization would like to do more to support the important work of our advocates, The STARR Coalition is here to help develop and foster those relationships. Let us know if you'd like our help getting connected with the advocacy organizations in your community!
...this is a perfect opportunity
to get involved!

While there is still stigma around those living with mental health disorders, we have seen great strides in social equality with the LBGTQ community.
During June, we recognize Pride Month, which promotes self-affirmation, dignity, equality and increased visibility of the LBGTQ community. As stigma impacts many segments of our society, especially those living with mental illness, we can learn from the lessons given to us by the LBGTQ community.
As we leave Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s celebrate the best of who we are and take PRIDE in lifting one another up. True beauty resides in each one of us.

National Call-to-Action, We Need You!
Over the last several years, we have seen an increased awareness of the importance of CNS research. Advocacy organizations are supporting cutting-edge, scientific approaches to new therapies relieving the symptoms of mental illness. We have many unique barriers in this arena. The question becomes how can we come together across industry and advocacy to find real, practical ways to promote research.
In this spirit, The STARR Coalition is partnering with thought-leaders across the industry and advocacy to create a National Call-to-Action. We will create a campaign consisting of actionable items anyone can use to help bring mental health research into the same light as cancer, diabetes or heart disease. A great need had been identified for this collaboration, if you are interested in joining the workgroup, reach out to The STA
RR.
