Summer is flying by!
Don't look now - it's already August! It's almost time for school shopping, fall sports, and taking kids to college. Which also means it's almost time for all those leaves to start morphing from their lovely shades of green into the beautiful colors we love so much. We're pretty sure you've got some time left to swim, hike, bike, garden, and be outdoors in the sun (without a jacket!), but we should start thinking about fall projects - those things we look forward to working on when the sun goes down earlier, and the breeze gets a little cooler. Do you need some inspiration? Our fall class schedule will be out in the next few weeks, and we have some fun things planned. And as many of you have seen on Facebook, we've been moving fabric around the store, to freshen things up, and it looks great! The very popular Moda Grunge, and Kona Solids are now upstairs, and the 30s fabrics are brightening up the back corner where the blues used to be. Stop in and check it out!
**Coming in our next issue is information about the Fall 2018 Mystery Quilt, and details for "Dimensions", a block-of-the-month project we'll be starting in the fall.
Cindy is currently on the hunt for professional machine quilters willing to donate their quilting services for one quilt toward our Helping Hands program. We probably have more juvenile/novelty fabrics than anything else in the shop. But Judy's always on the lookout for fun fabrics to add. This new group has just a little texture, and adds a little fun. Add these to any project you're working on - they will add some pop!  A Walk in the Woods from Whistler Studios by Windham Fabrics These pretty little prints are great for a child's quilt - soft colors, and fun motifs. Use them on their own, or add a few complements from your stash.  Holly Woods from 3 Sisters by Moda Look at these great red & white prints! The richness and contrast are stunning! They will work in a holiday quilt, and they are perfect for all you two-color quilt fans. Maybe they will inspire someone to make their very first two-color quilt...  Temperance Blues c. 1850 from Washington Street Studio by P&B Textiles We know this says these are Reproduction fabrics from 1850, but the prints are so versatile that you could use them in traditional, or modern quilts, too! Those shades of blue will work anywhere.  Our Autumn Friends by In The Beginning These rich, vibrant fabrics will make any fall-themed project come to life. The leaf print (center in photo) is great as napkins, so use all of the prints to make a placemat/napkin set - your table will look spectacular! |

Notions, News, & Other Notes
 Interest in the Jelly Roll Rug is huge right now. And RJ Designs, the maker of the original Jelly Roll Rug, has just released a new pattern:
Jelly Roll Rug Squared. For those of you who don't want to work in curves, this project is for you - it's a rectangular rug - all straight line sewing!
 The Angler 2 has been around for several years, but we're seeing a rise in popularity recently. Pam Bono designed this tool for you attach to your sewing machine bed, to save you from marking diagonal lines. It helps when you're making half-square triangles, Snowballs, Flying Geese, and lots of other common units.
