Newest Urgent Care in Howard County Open for Business

Congratulations to Howard County's newest urgent care and one of our newest members, Premier Health Express Urgent Care on Patuxent Woods Drive in Columbia! 

Chamber President Leonardo McClarty and Director of Membership Ronny Nadiv helped cut the ribbon on the new clinic this week along with Chamber Ambassadors and several elected officials.
First Citizens Bank Opens First Howard County Location

Congratulations to First Citizens Bank on the grand opening of their first Howard County location in Columbia! 

Chamber President Leonardo McClarty and Director of Membership Ronny Nadiv were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony and check presentation to the Community Action Council of Howard County. First Citizens Bank is offering $100 to the CAC for each of the first 100 accounts opened at the new branch.
Edwards Performance Solutions Wins Top Honor

Congratulations to Edwards Performance Solutions who not only took home the award for Best Cybersecurity Company, but also ended up with the Top Winner spot at The Daily Record's Reader Rankings award ceremony last week. Edwards' CEO Gina Abate accepted the award on behalf of the company.

MD Chamber Business Policy Conference This September

The Maryland Chamber of Commerce is holding it's annual Business Policy Conference on September 20th in Columbia. This year the conference will tackle issues like tariff effects on Maryland, the opioid epidemic, Maryland's business climate and reinventing the talent pipeline.

$10k Grants Available For People Affected by Ellicott City Flood

The Community Foundation of Howard County, United Way of Central Maryland and Ellicott City Partnership have raised $800,000 to date to be used for grants to those affected by the Ellicott City Flood May 27, 2018. 

SBA Opening Disaster Loan Center in Historic Ellicott City

The U.S. Small Business Administration has now opened a Disaster Loan Center in Historic Ellicott City staffed by SBA Customer Service Representatives who can answer questions about the disaster loan program and help people complete applications for Business Physical Disaster Loans, Economic Injury Disaster Loans or Home Disaster Loans. The Center opened July 31st and will close August 7th.
Main Street Reopened in Ellicott City

Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman and County Council Member Jon Weinstein have announced that Ellicott City's Main Street is now open to two-way vehicular and pedestrian traffic after being closed for nearly two months since the flash flood on May 27th.

Howard County's Summer 2018 Restaurant Week is upon us, and we can't wait to hit some of our favorite spots. From July 23rd - August 6th you can enjoy special restaurant week menus and deals at dozens of Howard County's most delicious eateries including tons of Chamber members!

Take Advantage of the Registered Apprenticeship Program

The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded $50.5 million in grants to help states develop and implement strategies to support apprenticeship expansion and Maryland has received $2 million. Funds will be awarded to applicants so they may implement new and promising ideas, or adapt proven strategies at the systems or service delivery level, so as to expand the reach of RA programs in Maryland.
