Spelling Bee Champ
WHP client, Lisa, shared this amazing news about her son, Izaiah, with her Case Manager.

"My 10 year old son Izaiah, who attends Westwood Elementary, entered his school spelling bee and won 2nd place. He moved on to the District competition where he made it to the 2nd round & although he didn't win he still went home with a medal & certificate for being 1 of 45 who made it there, out of 4500 students from the spring branch school district. The year book staff from his school was there to take his picture in which he felt a lot of pride.  And although Izaiah didn't win 1st place, he's still my little champion."

We are so proud of Izaiah and his mom Lisa!
Volunteer Spotlight
Friday, December 7, 2017:  For the 5th year in a row, a group of jogger moms in Memorial, affectionately referred to as the "Mother Runners",  hosted their holiday party, "Believe in the Magic of Giving" benefiting Westside Homeless Prevention.  Families enjoyed an evening at Sandalwood Park to watch an outdoor movie, sip hot cocoa, and nibble on sweets, all while donating to WHP and raising over $10,000.
