AREMA 2016 Recap

AREMA 2016 Recap:

SENSR Monitoring Technologies (SMT) participated as an exhibitor for the first time at the 2016 AREMA Conference and Exposition. We had many customers interact with us at our booth and had great conversations about our latest improvement to our monitoring system, SENSR si.

We enjoyed the keynote speakers at the conference and continued to fine tune our expertise by learning what our fellow colleagues are contributing in technical session presentations and committee meetings.

Although SMT exhibited for the first time at AREMA, this was not our first time attending the conference and exposition. Walt Bleser, president, has been an AREMA member since 2005, and was recently elected the Chairman of AREMA Technical Committee 7, Timber Structures.

Given our role in helping railroads maintain their infrastructure, our participation in AREMA is critical such that we understand the challenges facing our customers.

Bleser had the opportunity to present a published white paper at a technical session in collaboration with one of our customers, Marc Cote of Canadian Pacific on a new way to detect, monitor and manage scour of critical railway bridges.

We also used this event as a time to recognize and thank our customers for their continued partnership with SMT at our customer dinner. We value the collaboration and trust our customers put in us to help them monitor their bridges and structures to ensure their safety and peace of mind in daily operations.
