To honor their commitment to advancing family nursing and family focused health care,  Glen and Becky Taylor, USA, received the first-ever IFNA 2015 Distinguished Partner in Family Health Award. The Glen Taylor Nursing Institute for Family and Society provided crucial financial support that enabled the launch of the International Family Nursing Association in 2009 and served as a major sponsor for the 11th and 12th International Family Nursing Conferences. Never before has the field of family nursing been offered the sustained financial investment and the sincere personal interest and cheerleading that has been shown by Glen and Becky Taylor. FAMILY NURSING EDUCATION NEWS
"This was a great way for my students to learn about..." Families Illustrated is an online site housed at the University of Minnesota that offers a curated list of popular media that can be used by family professionals to teach about family concepts. There is also an opportunity to share your ideas about media resources related to family health/family healing you have found helpful in your own teaching.  

The IFNA Education Committee is eagerly looking forward to learning about the resources that you are using to teach family nursing.  The IFNA Toolkit for Family Nursing Educators is currently under development and your input is invited. [Read more]

FAMILY NURSING RESEARCH NEWS
Dr. Agatha Gallo, USA, is a distinguished family nursing researcher who studies family response to childhood chronic conditions. She is currently collaborating with a research team to help young adults with sickle cell disease or sickle cell trait make informed reproductive decisions. [Read more]

 
Marcia Van Riper, USA, received a Fulbright US Senior Specialist Award to visit the University of Navarra, Spain where she offered lectures and seminars on a variety of topics related to family nursing, etc. and collected data from Spanish families of individuals with Down Syndrome for her ongoing cross-cultural study on adaptation and resilience in families of individual with Down Syndrome.
