Glades PATCH Meeting PATCH

The Glades PATCH (Planned Approach To Community Health) is a program designed to help the community evaluate, plan and implement health education and disease prevention and intervention programs. PATCH helps promote the health of the community to include social, emotional and physical well-being of its citizens. PATCH is a partnership of concerned citizens and organizations. This partnership provides a forum for identifying health problems affecting the community and mobilizing the community to plan, conduct and evaluate intervention services. The meeting is open to all who wish to join.

Deadline: Healthier Glades Grant HEALTHIERGLADESGRANT

Healthier Glades is seeking to fund mini grants up to $3,000 for Glades residents and up to $2,500 for nonprofit organizations in the Glades communities. The mini grants are designed to promote the mission and vision of Healthier Glades in the following areas:
  1. Promoting health and wellness (behavioral and physical)
  2. Storytelling - "Changing the Narrative" (e.g. cultural and visual arts, social connectedness, etc.)
  3. Developing and nurturing participation channels (e.g. Advocacy (Youth and Adult), Youth Development, etc.)

Jack the Beanstalk Auditions at Dolly Hand CAC JACK
 
An audition will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of Jack and the Beanstalk at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center. Among the roles to be cast are Jack, Mother, Milky White, the Magic Harp, Farmers, Merchants, the Giant, Jill, Circus Performers and Wonder Beans. Students in grades K-5 through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition.

Movie & Popcorn: Chasing Coral
 
CHASING CORAL follows a team of divers, photographers and marine scientists on a thrilling ocean adventure as they record the elusive process of coral bleaching, a phenomenon happening at an unprecedented rate around the world (including Florida) due to warming ocean temperatures. Event is FREE and being held during Climate Week. Popcorn and light refreshments will be served. Kids are welcome with adult supervision. Doors open at 12:30 pm, film starts at 1:00 pm, followed by Q&A and activities with local coral reefs conservationists, including a virtual reality (VR) experience. (Closed captioning available). RSVP is required as seating is limited.

Town of Palm Beach Encourages Donations to Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund with Match

The Town of Palm Beach United Way, in collaboration with the Town of Palm Beach, has started a Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund to assist with long-term recovery efforts in the Bahamas. John and Jana Scarpa have generously offered a dollar for dollar matching gift of up to $100,000 toward the Town of Palm Beach United Way and Town of Palm Beach Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund. The fund has so far collected $25,000 toward long-term relief efforts in the Bahamas.
