Moore County 4-H Members Receive First Place!
Moore County took three 4-H Cooking Around the World camp participants to compete at the Regional 4-H Cooking Challenge in Harnett County. Teams were given a basket with ingredients they needed to utilize while preparing a balanced and nutritious meal. They had access to pantry items and all of the necessary equipment to be creative with their dish. After the meals were prepped, the teams gave a presentation about their dish to a panel of judges. Our Moore County team worked great together and ultimately received first place!

Upcoming Photo Contest!
Moore County Cooperative Extension is sponsoring a photography contest to showcase the diversity of Moore County's rich agricultural heritage.  Photos selected from the contest will be placed on permanent display throughout the Moore County Agricultural building in Carthage.

Photographic subjects must include any of the following: active farm operations, agricultural landscapes, agricultural products, farm machinery in action, farm workers, livestock, horticulture, forestry, farmers markets, food processing, beekeeping, gardening and landscaping, and other agricultural-related scenes. All photos must highlight Moore County subjects, but the photographer does not need to be a county resident.

Moore County Agricultural Fair
Moore County Fair
The Moore County Fair is upon us.  Participants may enter livestock, flowers, field and garden crops, arts and crafts (including items from summer camp and school), and several categories of food. Participants can be youth or adults and they do not have to be in 4-H to enter.

Dates: September 24-28, 2019

The Dare to Be Different Club worked with our local schools to help identify the need for supplies for homeless children.The group then went out to purchase some of the needed items to help as many children as they could.

Growing Farmers 4-H Club
Show season is here! Members of the Growing Farmers Club are participating throughout the state as part of the 2019 4-H Farm Credit Livestock Showmanship Circuit.
