Spotlight
Employee of the Month

Have you met Emily? She's a bright spotlight at the WAWM RCS Dept. Summer Playgrounds. This summer, Emily was the Site Leader at Irving Playground and had a blast leading the staff and meeting families. Emily started working for the WAWM RCS Dept. last summer as the Site Leader at Klentz Park. At both playgrounds, she says the most rewarding part is connecting with the children and the families and creating lasting memories for them. Over the past couple of summers, Emily has noticed that community involvement at the Playgrounds is huge and that helps the Playgrounds create memorable events. One of her favorite events was when Irving Playground hosted a Cultural Day where the families around Irving volunteered and shared cultural traditions and foods. The children at the playground were very willing to try new foods (even if in the end they did not like it) and enjoyed the Henna art.
Emily is not from West Allis, even though she fits in quite nicely, she actually grew up in Marshfield, Wisconsin and went to college at UW-Green Bay and then attended graduate school at UW-Milwaukee to become a school psychologist. A huge congratulation to Emily on her new role as a School Psychologist in the Madison School District next fall! When she has a moment of free time, Emily enjoys being outdoors, reading, spending time with friends and learning how to cook! You go Emily!
