Houston's greatest energy resource is its entrepreneurial energy
Houston People ~ Houston Proud!

Over the years we've had opportunity to work with exceptional people.

You know some of them.

They've become household names in Houston.

And we've discovered some common beliefs among them.

Things like "quitting is not an option."

"Attitude is everything."

"Love what you do."

"Believe in yourself."

"If you don't get it right the first time, try, try again."

These people motivate and inspire those around them.

They encourage results not reasons and excuses are never a acceptable replacement.

Join us for your choice of a virtual morning business meeting via Skype or a seated Business Building Breakfast on June 17th and share with us what you're discovering about yourself.

Mughal Empress Mumtaz Mahal dies
Empress Mumtaz Mahal , beloved wife of India's Mughal emperor, dies while
giving birth to the couple's fourteenth child. Her husband's grief will lead to 21 years of construction on the Taj Mahal, a domed marble mausoleum for his
wife's tomb and one of the architectural wonders of the world.

Two mapmakers meet the mighty Mississippi
Frenchman Jacques Marquette and French-Canadian Louis Jolliet set their canoes down on the river Native Americans called the "Mesipi," near what will be Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. These early European explorers will map the huge waterway's course to within 435 miles of the Gulf of Mexico.

Break-in at the Watergate Hotel ends in arrests
Five men, including US President Richard Nixon's security chief, are arrested
after breaking into the Democratic National Committee's headquarters at the Watergate Complex in Washington, DC. What Nixon's press secretary later dubs
a 'third-rate burglary' will be the undoing of a presidency.
2015
Nine African Americans are dead and three are injured after a shooting at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC. After his arrest, the attacker will admit he was motivated by racial hatred, igniting a debate over the state's Confederate symbology. He will be convicted on 33 federal hate crime and murder charges and in January 2017 will receive a death sentence.

Recognizing Industry  Leaders:
Services Cooperative Association
Market Expansion ~ Business Development
Entrepreneurial Education ~ Professional Growth
Since 1983!
A not-for-profit cooperative association of independent businesses, founded from an economic development research project on the
importance of startup business development conducted by the
Houston Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970's.

Since our first Co-Op meeting held March 14, 1983, we've worked with 65,644
people, generating 45,116 tips, leads, referrals and items of new business, generating revenues exceeding one billion dollars, founded the Entrepreneurial Development Center - Houston's first and Texas' oldest small business incubator and co-working space, First Houston Small Business Seed Capital Fund - literally the first small business seed capital fund in Houston, the Womens Business Center - first business incubator for women business owners in the United States with residency space and the Virtual Business Center - the first remote business incubator in the world - all totally without public funding, grants, gifts, donations or contributions.

Co-Op companies have won virtually every award for business growth in Houston, some nationally and some even internationally.

Our Entrepreneurial Research conclusively demonstrated A) "entrepreneurship" could be taught in a classroom environment, resulting in colleges and universities, globally, commencing entrepreneurial courses and B) that women starting businesses were seeking a hand-up and a level playing field rather than a hand-out or charity and C) that business incubators actually accelerated business growth resulting in the next generation being named accelerators and D) incubators/accelerators could be entirely self-sufficient by charging a modest royalty interest in client companies and that entrepreneurship was color blind and gender neutral.
