2017 Election: Electronic Voting Procedures
Voting in the 2017 election for the State Bar of New Mexico Board of Bar Commissioners will close at noon on Nov. 30. View a summary of which Bar Commissioner Districts had open positions and the candidates running for those positions in the Bar Bulletin. The First and Sixth Bar Commissioner Districts have contested elections. A link to the electronic ballot and instructions was emailed to all members in those Districts. To provide an email address if one is not currently on file or to request a mailed ballot, contact Pam Zimmer.

Rosalie "Lisa" Chavez Receives Indian Law Section Attorney Achievement Award
Lisa Chavez will be honored for her countless contributions to, and extraordinary work on behalf of, New Mexico's Pueblo and Tribal communities at a reception from 6-10 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Santa Ana Star Center VIP Room. Young Lawyers Division Revives Homeless Legal Clinic in Albuquerque
The Homeless Legal Clinic returns to Albuquerque from 9-11 a.m. (orientation at 8:30 a.m.), Nov. 30, at Healthcare for the Homeless located at 1217 First Street NW. Volunteer attorneys are needed to staff the clinic, serve as an "information referral resource" and join the pro bono referral list. For those staffing the clinic or providing other services, a trained attorney will assist you until you feel comfortable by yourself. To volunteer, contact YLD Region 2 Director Kaitlyn Luck.

Women's Law Caucus Opens Nominations for Justice Walters Award
The UNM School of Law Women's Law Caucus chooses an outstanding woman in the New Mexico legal community to honor annually in the name of former Justice Mary Walters, who was the first woman appointed to the New Mexico Supreme Court. For information on how to make a nomination, contact Erin Phillips. The nomination deadline is Dec. 1.

Albuquerque Bar Association Luncheon and Annual Meeting
