This Sunday, we look at doubt & faith and the way they are interconnected as we journey in our spiritual lives. Here is the takeaway: I think there are two kinds of doubt in this world, one that raises questions that then strengthens an unwavering faith, while the second kind is doubt that creates fear and forever poisons your spiritual soul. To be clear, Jesus spends a great deal of time questioning those who have "little faith" or asking "why did you doubt?" I think it’s because He wants us to trust Him completely, and so often, we don’t. I think the church has made doubt and faith an either/or decision, leaving no place for them to co-exist. Whereas, I see them sitting side by side one influencing the other. In other words, I am not sure all doubt is bad. This may shock you, but I too have had dark nights of the soul. Nights where I have wondered where God is and why he seemed so slow to act, at least according to my expectations. However, the doubts I have, drive me to look harder for God, and not to dismiss God! So, Sunday we are going to look at this unusual alliance that is so prevalent in life. We believe but help our unbelief.
