Fence & Deck Connection will be hosting its 12th Annual Holiday Drive event on Saturday, December 2nd from 4:00pm-7:00pm at their Annapolis location located at 1544 Whitehall Road Annapolis, MD 21409. The event theme this year is 'Christmas in Candy Land'.  This event is completely FREE and 100% of the proceeds and/or donations will be given to the following local non-profits: The Blue Ribbon Project, Warrior Events and Wy's Rides. Bring the family for Free photos with Santa Claus, holiday crafts, cookie decorating, face painting, moon bounce, pony rides, petting zoo and so much more. A special performance by The Children's Theater of Annapolis and the amazing voices of the Annapolis Area Christian School Choir will lift you up.

 

Fence & Deck Connection will be collecting clothing, children's toys and games, and gift cards to purchase items of necessity at the drive. Please join them in their efforts to provide some comfort to these children who reside right here in our community.

 

Help support local charities by choosing 1 of 3 ways to help:

(1)           Clothing Drive: Sizes Newborn - 18 years old needed for The Blue Ribbon Project Fence & Deck Connection will be collecting clothing to supplement the Backpacks of Love backpacks, as well as help foster families with additional clothing items through The Blue Ribbon Project. Please donate clothing items in sizes 'newborn' to 18 years of age for both genders (the most need is for 'pants' of all sizes for these children).

 (2)          Children's Toys & Games Drive - to be delivered to The Children's Hospital via Warrior Events in conjunction with Wy's Rides.   Fence & Deck Connection is collecting unwrapped children's toys and games to be delivered to Children's Hospital via Warrior Events in conjunction with Wy's Rides. Employees from Fence & Deck Connection along with wounded veterans working with Warrior Events will deliver these toys to The Children's Hospital. Wy's Rides fleet of red wagons will be filled with these toys and will help hand them out to the children in the hospital to help make their stay a little easier.

(3)           Donate a GIFT CARD* for items of necessity
Fence & Deck Connection is collecting gift cards for items of necessity to help support local foster children through the Blue Ribbon Project and local veterans through Warrior Events.

Non-Profit Information:

The Fence & Deck Connection's Holiday Drive will be supporting three non-profits this year.  The first is The Blue Ribbon Project. The Blue Ribbon Project was formed to assist children who are the victims of child abuse and neglect, as well as adult survivors of child abuse. One of the initiatives of this project is the " Backpacks of Love" campaign. This campaign supports children entering the Foster Care system most times abruptly and unexpectedly. The primary focus of the campaign is to provide these children with a backpack that is filled with items of both necessity and comfort.

Fence & Deck Connection will also be supporting Warrior Events. Warrior Event's sole purpose is to enrich the lives of those wounded while serving our country as well as the lives of their family members. With the help and support of the community, Warrior Events hosts monthly events for these warriors and their families to show appreciation for their immense sacrifices. Events such as sporting events, spa days, date nights, and much more have helped develop meaningful and long-lasting relationships with these Americans. Warrior Events fundraises throughout the year to raise money to grant wishes for these warriors.

The third non-profit Fence & Deck Connection will be supporting is Wy's Rides. Wy's Rides is dedicated to keeping kids happy and active while they're stuck in the hospital.  The founders of this non-profit found out the hard way that caring for a sick child is difficult.  Finding ways to become more efficient is crucial. So they started retrofitting red radio flyer wagons that allow kids who are tethered to medical equipment to get out of their hospital room and go for a ride, even when only one caretaker is available.
