ajaro Valley Arts stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and in opposition to injustice and systemic racism. We are deeply disturbed by the violence, aggression, and discrimination inflicted upon so many people throughout their lives.
The nation continues to suffer unnecessary inequities in our Black communities and all communities of color. We must turn the page of hatred and fear that arises because of color. We must rise above racism to better understand one another as human beings. Racism of any kind and on every level is contrary to our mission of bringing the community together through the arts.
Currently, our Board of Directors is in the midst of a conversation about the need for an equity assessment and training. We believe that this will result in increased diversity within our exhibits and educational offerings. We are committed to equity and inclusion in all aspects of our work, from our exhibitions and programs to PVA leadership, staff, volunteers and
membership.
With these efforts, as we pursue our mission of bringing the community together through the arts, we hope to help create a more just and equitable society.

Your generosity helps support local artists and bring art and art experiences to our community, both online and in person. We are especially appreciative that at this time of great need you continue to support PVA and recognize the value of bringing the community together through the arts.

To those readers who did not receive our recent appeal letter, we are asking for your help.
As a direct result of Covid-19 closures our income has suffered. In addition, delivery of previously awarded grant funds have been postponed. We need donations to bridge the gap between the Payroll Protection Program loan that we received and future funding. We need your help!
Your donation today enables PVA to serve the community now and as the recovery unfolds. We want to be here to help our community heal and we hope you are in a position to help ensure this is the case by giving to PVA today.

Campesino: Workers of the Land exhibit. The event will take place via zoom on Thursday evening, July 30, 2020 from 6:30-8:30.
Enjoy a special presentation by Esperanza del Valle home presentation of "dancing while sheltering in place."
This will be a special night of music, dance, and poetic writing as were recognize the essential contributions of our gente who work tirelessly every day.
During this Covid-19 pandemic we want to especially acknowledge the contributions of farm workers via the Campesino Appreciation Caravan.

Sculpture Is: In the Garden is located at 2660 East Lake, Watsonville. Thank you to the Rosendale family and Sierra Azul staff for hosting us for our fourteenth year. We thank Hedwig Heerschop, Jamie Abbott and Susana Arias for their hard work in putting this exhibit together. Social distancing and masks are required.

Unless there is a new order from the State or Santa Cruz County, PVA is pleased to announce that the gallery will open on a trial basis with a limited schedule starting Friday, July 10, with operating hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00-4:00pm. A maximum of 12 people will be allowed in the gallery at a time (with three people per room), no appointment is necessary, masks and social distancing will be required, and there may be a waiting period for you to enter the gallery.
We have set aside Wednesdays for viewing the gallery by appointment. Drop-ins will not be allowed on Wednesdays. Please email
[email protected] to set up an appointment for you or your SIP family/group.
Your appointment time will be confirmed via e-mail.
