It's Fun, It's Free
Streets Alive! is this Sunday , September 22, from 1 - 4:30 PM. Walk, run, bike, stroll, dance, or skate your way through nearly 2 miles of festival route lined with exhibitors offering free health, wellness, and support resources in a fun and interactive way interspersed with music, dance, join-in fitness classes, sports demonstrations, art, games and giveaways. 
 
Closed to traffic along the route, Streets Alive! is family, kid, pet, and wheelchair friendly.  Check our FAQ page for free parking and a list of closed streets.
  
New  on the Route 
Streets Alive! Art Walk  - featuring artwork from local artists, LPS art students and the LUX Center for the Arts; the traveling exhibit of the Serving Hands sculpture project; interactive chalk art with a professional chalk artist, and face painting for kids.

Bike Valet and Rental - Ride your bike to Streets Alive! and park it safely with at the BikeLNK booth.  Rental bikes will also be available to ride throughout the route.
 Music     


Back Again:  Less Talk, More Polka, the Lincoln Ukulele Group, and Cool Poppas.

What's New: The Lincoln Calling music festival spills over into Streets Alive! with Jarana (Latin jazz, blues) and Wise (eclectic rock).

  Dance and Drills    

 
Enjoy Latin folk dancing with Argullo Latino, get energized by the Boys and Girls Club and the Dawes step teams, march to the beat of the Lincoln High Drumline, and marvel at the moves of the CK Dance Academy and Greater Impact. 
Join-in Fitness Classes, Sports Demonstrations, Games     
Join our street fitness classes offering Yoga and Pilates; POUND fitness from the YMCA; and tackle the Madhouse Obstacle course

Check out fencing demonstrations from the Lincoln Fencing Club; roller derby from the No Coast Derby Girls; skateboard along with The Bay, and enjoy a game of badminton with the Preservation Society. 
 
For Kids and Families
Kids can meet Josh the Otter, check out the Bookmobile and Read Aloud Lincoln, jump in the bounce houses, climb on the fire engine, get their face painted, make chalk art, watch the Puppet Parade and play plenty of games with exhibitors. Get family pics at the photo and soak Lincoln luminaries at the dunk tank.    Download an event schedule/exhibitor map. 
 
MilkWorks will be there with a breastfeeding station for nursing moms, and nearly 100 non-profit organizations will offer free health resources and information.  The event is child, family, and pet friendly, so bring Fido. 
 

                                              Good Food   

Fresh produce from Community Crops and Green School Farms will be available for purchase along with flavorable food from JuJu's Vegan Creole and Cajun food truck.  Trader Joe's, CostCo, Open Harvest, Lincoln Fresh and the HyVee Wellness bus will offer free bottled water and tasty snacks.  And don't forget to make your own smoothie with the bicycle smoothie machine at the Great Plains Trails Network or the UNL/Extension exhibit.
