A Time to Give Thanks

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
- Philippians 1:3-5 [ESV]

,

This is a time in the United States when we pause for just a moment to give thanks to God for His many blessings, and to thank one another for family and friendship. We do not want to miss this opportunity to thank all of you for your prayers, your support, and your friendship.

As we reflect on this year, we are thankful for many things. We are grateful for our devoted staff which operates the clinic in Charrier day in and day out. We thank our doctors, nurses, lab technician, and administrators for their devotion and care to the local community, as well as the extended community throughout Haiti.

We are grateful for the teams that visited from the United States this year that did so much to improve the safety and efficiency of the clinic. We now have a new roof, a reliable power system, and a steady water supply thanks to those who have helped us. We are grateful to the team that came during the summer and for the outreach to the small village of Acul-Samedi. Hundreds received health care, and many came to know Christ as Savior.

Even as we are sorrowful for so many who sustained loss, we are thankful that Haiti was largely spared from the damaging hurricanes that passed nearby this summer. So many times disaster after disaster visits Haiti, but this time the country was spared.

We thank you, our supporters, as the Scripture at the beginning of the note states. It was written by the Apostle Paul who is thanking those who made his ministry possible. Likewise, we thank you as our partners in ministry. Whether you pray, give, or go, you are used by God in a mighty way to minister to those who suffer in great need.

Most of all, we are grateful to God who gives us this opportunity to serve. Every day is a great day to give thanks.  We pray that our actions will always honor and please Him and that we will always serve with thankful hearts. Happy thanksgiving to all!

Many blessings,
The Haiti Cheri Team
