EDUCATION SESSION #1148
GLOBAL WEBINAR
The Second Machine Age: The AI Awakening and Implications for the Global Economy

Hosted by the 100WF London Education Committee
As technology transforms, and takes on more functions in society, what will it take for humans to survive – and grow? Race together with the machines, urges Erik Brynjolfsson, Schussel Family Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are at the centre of a revolution that will be more extraordinary, more disruptive and more world-changing than any other period in history.

Key themes are:

  • How companies and economies may decipher, prepare for and capitalise on the technological changes that will impact everything from employment and healthcare to education and socio-economic mobility
  • How people and businesses will work, interact and prosper in the industries of the future
  • How we can effectively harness and keep up with the pace of innovation
  • How AI and other technologies will drive productivity growth over the next few years and which parts of the economy will be first and most significantly affected?

After an overview by Linn O’Connor, Professor Brynjolfsson will present the key themes, followed by a fireside chat and a lively Q&A with the audience.
