6TH ANNUAL ATPF BRIDGE TO THE BEACH SUMMER CAMP 
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SAN DIEGO LIFEGUARDS WILL BE
PROVIDED  TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ON JULY 13-17, 2020


ATPF extends our sincere gratitude to Mikelson Yachts, Jennifer Wu, Peter Theios, Sheri Smith, the Sullivan Family, the Taccone Family and the Hoff Family! Because of their generous donations, we are able to fund and provide our 6th Annual ATPF Bridge to the Beach Week Long Camp this year for our children and families! This camp, in compliance with CDC COVID-19 requirements, will take place on July 13-17, 2020 at the Santa Clara Recreational Center and South Mission Beach and serve 18 ATPF kids. Each ATPF child will be paired with two (2) Junior Lifeguard volunteers for fun water and beach activities, such as surfing, kayaking, boogie boarding, paddle boarding, sand castle building, and more.  Every caution will be taken to make this  week long camp SAFE for our ATPF kids and families, including but not limited to:

3 Separate shift times each day
Temperature checks of every person attending
Face masks
Sanitization stations
Social distancing enforced

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit San Diego, ATPF responded quickly. We feel blessed every day to continue supporting kids and families with autism through our virtual programs and services! 
$1,700 GRANT AWARDED TO ATPF FROM 
ARTHUR P. PRATT & JEANETTE G. PRATT MEMORIAL FUND 


We extend our sincere gratitude to The Pratt Memorial Fund for their recent grant of $1,700 to support the ATPF Early Intervention Preschool Screening Program! This generous award will provide early intervention screenings to 48 Head Start Preschoolers in San Diego County and ensure that they have the tools they need to be kindergarten ready.

We are excited to announce a NEW monthly ATPF program: Virtual Adaptive Art Classes! This program will be completely organized and facilitated by ATPF Interns & Volunteers, who will be leading our children and families step-by-step through simple art activities each class. We are honored and excited to have Isabelle Kaplan, ATPF Volunteer & Founder of the ATPF-NCL Girls Summer Art Camp lead our first Adaptive Art Class on Saturday, July 11th! This class will be Ocean-themed and focused on learning different water color techniques.

We LOVE our ATPF Interns & Volunteers! We are sending out a special THANK YOU and farewell to Emily Zhong, Volunteer Director of the ATPF Girls in STEM Program! Emily has been a dedicated volunteer with ATPF since September 2018, and during this time has led 17 Girls In STEM Workshops, devoted more than 50 volunteer hours (saving the foundation over $1,300), AND generously donated $750 to ATPF through her Gemerosity Jewelry business. Emily has been an incredible leader and role model to our ATPF Girls and many of our young volunteers and interns. She graduated from Canyon Crest Academy, plans on attending UC Berkeley in the Fall to study Cognitive Science, and recently led a heartfelt inspiration at our last ATPF June Core Team  Meeting.  Congratulations Emily on all that you've accomplished at ATPF - we are so proud of and grateful for YOU - and can't wait to see what your bright future holds!

We will learn valuable interaction, communication, and social skills through group music-making in a fun and friendly environment. The ATPF playgroups are facilitated by board-certified music therapists from the Music Therapy Center of California.

ATPF Board Meeting Q2

Our ATPF Board held one of our quarterly board meetings last night with financial updates from our CFO, Caitlyn McTaggart, and program updates from our Director of Development, Lisa Kaufmann. We are so incredibly thankful for our board of 12 who have stepped up to the plate during this time of COVID so that we can continue to support our thousands of children and families living with autism during this pandemic.

ATPF Awarded Grant from the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation

We are incredibly blessed and so excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant from The Carlsbad Charitable Foundation for $18,000 for ATPF to provide early intervention preschool screenings! ATPF was one of 7 groups chosen to receive just more than $120,000 from the 2020 grant cycle.
