We are so excited, and frankly anxious, about the imminent arrival of our first resident at Elephant Refuge North America (ERNA) - Mundi who is retiring from the Dr. Juan A. Rivero Zoo in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. As more people leave the island due to lingering infrastructure damage from Hurricane Maria, our job of getting Mundi to her forever home in Georgia becomes more difficult. So we need to raise funds quickly to secure the equipment and expertise necessary for
Mundi's Move.
Elephant Aid International (EAI) is participating in the Newman's Own Foundation $500k Holiday Challenge as a way to raise funds for Mundi's Move and to raise awareness of her situation. We'll be in competition with other organizations to raise the most money throughout the holiday season. The grand prize is $150,000 and there are weekly Bonus Challenges to raise more money for Mundi. (Head's up, we'll be in touch with a reminder for each of the weekly Bonus Challenges. Bonus Challenge #1
Today kicks off the first Bonus Challenge. For every $500 we raise through our Challenge page on
Crowdrise.combetween November 21st at noon ET and
November 28th at midnight, EAI will be entered for a
chance to win $2,500. There will be 1 winner each day for a total of 8 winners.
Please give what you can and help spread the word. By encouraging friends, family and colleagues to learn about Mundi and the opportunity we have to bring her joy, we can continue to build our support network.

Fundraisers at the $25,000+ level: Receive the opportunity for four people to get a personal tour of ERNA and lunch at Elephant Lake hosted by EAI Founder Carol Buckley. There won't be any elephants yet, but you can be assured of a unique educational and truly rewarding experience.
