Fremont Parks Closed Due to Rain
Unfortunately due to the 8 inches of rain in the last two days, we have to close Behm and Ivanhoe Parks on Saturday and Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Fremont Assessments Coming September 19
Fremont Assessor, Joe Herchenbach has been told by Lake County that the blue assessment notices will be in the mail September 19. It's important for taxpayers to read, understand and check this notice for accuracy as it contains important information about your property. The county has a new system and it is imperative that you verify the information is accurate. More information will be sent out to you next week.
Lakewood Forest Preserve Master Plan Meeting at Fremont Township
Open House at Fremont Township, 22385 Illinois Route 60, Mundelein
September 23 from 5 pm to 7 pm

Staff from the Lake County Forest Preserve and members of the Board of Commissioners will share draft master plan concepts within the community and gather feedback about potential recreation and restoration improvements.
At the open house, you can:
  • view exhibits illustrating the concepts
  • learn about the planning process
  • ask questions and share your ideas
  • provide written comments

The scammers are at it again and calling our residents and pretending to be from the IRS and Social Security. Unfortunately people fall for these scams. Do not give any personal information to these people calling you! The calls from Microsoft are all scams too.

Healthy Aging
Healthy Aging is a free Wellness Program held on Tuesday, September 17 from 12:30 to 1:30 at the Ivanhoe Congregational Church at 21078 W Route 176 in Mundelein.

Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, adapted for the stage by Constance Cox, is based on a short story by Oscar Wilde. This hilarious romantic comedy, set in Victorian England, centers on the ill-conceived and farcically mis-executed plot of Lord Arthur to commit a murder, as foretold by his palm reader, before he marries the lovely Sybil Merton and enjoys a blissful life.
Do You Have the Right Medicare Prescription Drug Plan?
Medicare's Open Enrollment period begins October 15 and ends December 7. Changes made to your Prescription Drug plan will take effect on January 1, 2020. This is the time of year when all people with Medicare can make changes to their Prescription Drug Plan.

For your convenience, Fremont Township will have a SHIP Counselor available to help you compare your current drug plan to new options to see if a different prescription plan better suits your needs or is less costly. This service is free.

If you would like to make an appointment with the Ship Counselor, please call Nancy at 847 223-2847. The appointments will start on October 15 and go through December 7. You will need to have an online account with medicare and a list of your current prescriptions before making an appointment. You must bring these and your medicare card to the appointment. If you need help in creating on-line access let Nancy know when you call.

AARP Defensive Driving ClassThe AARP Defensive Driving Course will be held on Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday September 25 from 9:00 am til 1:00 pm. Call Nancy at 847 223-2847 to register. $15.00 for AARP members and $20.00 for non AARP members. You must attend both classes. More Information

Rules of the Road Review Course, October 9 from 10 am til 2 pm
The Rules of the Road Review Course is designed to give drivers – especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities – the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver’s license.
The review course combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam. It is free. More Information
