Funding Cliff Update
Congress returned from August recess on Monday, September 9, leaving just three weeks to pass legislation that provides long-term stable funding to health centers before the September 30 deadline. Two pieces of legislation to extend health center funding in the House (
H.R. 2328
) and Senate (
S. 1895
) have passed out of their respective committees and are awaiting votes before the full chambers. Both bills would provide level funding for community health center programs, with H.R. 2328 providing four years of funding and S.1895 providing five years of funding.
