 Study of White Fragility begins June 24
Regardless of our particular political persuasion, Christian faith stands on a solid bedrock of justice, love and peace. It is for us to 'stand our ground' and work toward a world more reflective of God's ideals. Click here for how Covenant is responding.
- Church-wide book study: Ministers will lead a three-week book study on White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism with breakout groups facilitated by church members. Books are available here.
- Helping youth talk about racism: A workshop for high school students is Thursday at 7 p.m. with other Charlotte congregations. Parents are invited to join in a listening role.
- Around the kitchen table: An opportunity to confront racism in our own homes and hearts through conversation, prayer, listening and reflection.

Update on campus activities
VBS, summer camps are canceled
A Covenant leadership team is monitoring the COVID-19 situation with a focus on the safety of participants and staff. Today's update follows a careful review of government directives and advice from medical experts.
- The Early Childhood Education Committee canceled Vacation Bible School for this year.
- All camps for July and August are canceled, including recreation camps (Yes I Can basketball, Junior Jammers music camp, Soccer Shots, Ricky Price Basketball) as well as Preschool Summer Fun Days.
- Depending on state/local guidelines, the Rec Wing will re-open Aug. 1 for personal fitness by appointment. Director Kevin Harper will offer a once-a-week outdoor exercise class beginning July 6.
- The Covenant campus will remain closed for staff, small group meetings and in-person worship gatherings until Phase Three at the earliest.
We ask that you be patient with our careful planning and pray for our world and its leaders.

This week, Ian Clark leads a conversation on Galatia, a key location in Paul's missionary journey and thus the early Church. This region factors heavily into the New Testament narrative.

Watch a live cooking show hosted by Jessica and Ben Mallicote as we team up as a congregation to "stash" the freezer with 75 Texas Hash casseroles and 750 desserts for a meal at Men's Shelter. Find more details here.
- You can bring frozen items to the church Wednesdays in June from 11 a.m. to noon. Staff will be on the patio (socially distanced) to greet you and take your contributions.

Dove's Nest needs cloth masks
Support a Covenant mission partner
Volunteers are asked to contribute cloth masks for Dove's Nest, a partner that welcomes mothers with their children as they work to overcome alcohol and/or drug addiction.

 Elder nominations are now open
An Elder Nominating Committee is seeking recommendations for Elder and Youth Elder. The congregation will elect 10 adults and two youths for terms beginning in January 2021.

Ignore, delete suspicious requests
Please be vigilant about any email that appears to be from a minister, asking you to take some kind of unusual action (purchasing gift cards, clicking a link or simply replying quickly). Covenant does not communicate in these ways. Please be diligent in not responding to suspicious emails.
