Honoring Five Distinguished Vermonters
Vermont Arts Awards 2019 will be held Wednesday, October 23, at the Mahaney Arts Center on the Middlebury College Campus. The event will honor five outstanding Vermonters who have made significant contributions to the arts in our state.
In announcing the awards, Vermont Arts Council Executive Director Karen Mittelman said, "Each of the exceptional individuals we are honoring this year enriches our lives with remarkable talent, commitment, and creative vision. As artists, cultural leaders, educators, and mentors, they remind us that art can be transformative, for us as individuals and for Vermont communities."
The 2019 Vermont Arts Awards will honor:
François Clemmons
Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts
Castle Freeman Walter Cerf Medal for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts
Joan Robinson Ellen McCulloch-Lovell Award in Arts Education
James Lockridge Margaret L. (Peggy) Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy
Douglas Anderson Arthur Williams Award for Meritorious Service to the Arts
