Wednesday May 20 Omaha GIVES!
Omaha will be giving from midnight to midnight on May 20. Minimum is $1.00 with no maximum. Schedule a donation now through May 19, or join us on the 20th!
PANTRY
In addition to still seeing hundreds of people this week at our drive- through pantry, we are partnering with several new groups in order to deliver to those who can't get out, as well as support smaller food pantries.

Thanks to your generous donations, we are working with Support Your NEighbor COVID-19 and Beautiful Gate to deliver sack lunches and pantry boxes to several housing towers. We are also supplementing the food pantries of Clair Memorial United Methodist Church and Abide Omaha .

We love working with neighbors to help other neighbors - that is our mission! There are lots of opportunities to give in the next month to help us continue to grow community:
Watch for the WOWT Food Drive Thursday June 4th!

Pantry hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am - 12:30pm
STORES
Donations have quadrupled but there are some key items missing that we need. Working appliances like stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers remove stress in a home trying to make ends meet and build confidence that things will get better.

GARDENS
Sam Gering was at the Churchyard Community Garden this week taking pictures and measuring the space as he starts his Eagle Scout project. Sam, a freshman at Creighton Prep and member of Saint Margaret Mary Church Troop 378, will build and place picnic tables and do some general cleanup and maintenance of the garden area. Thank you Sam!

The garden has been a busy place this spring. Gardeners visit whenever they have the time, since each knows the code to the gate. It’s easy to maintain the correct social distance, it’s healthy to be outside working, and it’s a welcome break from coronavirus overload.

The garden at Leavenworth is being planted and some greens have already come up for clients to enjoy. New volunteers welcome!

HOLY FAMILY
Mary Avila and her husband, Al, volunteer at Holy Family Church, helping to make and hand out 250 free lunches per day, Monday through Friday. They continue a legacy begun about 30 years ago by members of the parish. It's always been important, and remains so during these uncertain times.
Thank you Mary & Al!
Our Garden Guru, Director of Holy Family Ministries, and AV expert Bruce Noble is interviewing people involved with all aspects of the Society. Look for more these videos soon!
We appreciate your support to continue this work which is needed more than ever.

CONFERENCES
"We have a neighbor who is requesting a washer and dryer. She is a 16 year healthcare worker who takes care of dementia and Alzheimer patients working 12 hour shifts. She moved to an apartment with washer and dryer hookups but no washer and dryer. She needs to clean her uniforms and supplies daily or her employer is going to terminate her on May 11. This has to do with corona. Does anyone have these used appliances or a way to get them?"

This is a request that came in this week from one of our conferences. These are parish based groups of volunteers we like to call "Vincentians". They will typically take calls for help with rent or utility bills but sometimes physical goods are needed. Often another conference can help out, but this time our General Manager of Stores, Tony Valencia, found a washer and dryer at the stores.
Thank you to everyone who was able to help out!
Neighbors helping neighbors once again!

A huge thank you to all of the essential workers out there who are risking their health in order to keep society functioning on the most basic levels. We all appreciate you more than you will ever know!
