The attendance policy is provided in detail within the DACC Student Handbook and it can be found on our website: www.DelawareAreaCC.org

Fees
Delaware Area Career Center 2018-2019 Program Statement Fees are available on the DACC web site. Each program has it's own set of fees, so visit your child's program page to access your fee statement.

The statement details supplies, tool usage, club and/or affiliation dues and other items necessary for your child's participation in their chosen program.

Payment Options: The Delaware Area Career Center accepts checks, credit card, online payments and will be happy to work with you to establish a payment plan should you need one.

Note: If your child is currently eligible for the free and reduced lunch program, you may be eligible to have some of your student fees waived.  Renita Russell at North campus and Debbi Pemberton at South campus can assist with payment and questions.

One to One Experience
DACC is excited to provide the Chromebook One to One Integration E x p e r i e n c e in selected Lab Programs  during the 2018-2019 School Year. If your DACC student is enrolled in one of these lab programs where Chromebooks are required, you will see a fee of $185.00 for the purchase of an 11.6" Chromebook. For more information:

Grades
Report cards sharing student progress will be issued to parents or legal guardians four times per year. At the interim for each marking period, educational progress is shared with parents and legal guardians of students having earned a "D" or "F" at that time, in any area of study.

We utilize Powerschool and ask that you frequently check progression of grades. Parent usernames and passwords will be listed at the bottom of each student schedule which will be available starting August 16, 2018.
InfoSnap Registration
You should have received an automated email from InfoSnap after your student was accepted to DACC that provided you with directions to register your student at DACC.

It is imperative that you have your student registered by the first day of school so we have paperwork on file related to current demographics, medical information and acknowledgment of our policies and procedures. Your student will not be able to fully participate in lab if registration is incomplete.

Register on our web site here.

For additional assistance with registration, please contact Kelly Wolfe in guidance at 740.203.2214.
Immunization Requirements
The State of Ohio is requiring an additional Meningitis booster before your child starts 12th grade.

Delaware General Health District will be providing immunization at DACC North Campus during our designated schedule pick-up date and time.

Service Dog - South Campus Only

South campus students only: A service dog will be present this school year.  In order to help prepare for this arrangement, please discuss with your child that a service dog will be in the building. Please remind your child that the dog is a working service animal when it is in the building and on the grounds, not a pet.

It would be helpful if you would also remind your child (especially if they are dog lovers) not to interfere with the dog's work by doing such things as calling the dog's name, petting it, etc. If your child prefers to be seated in class at a distance from the dog, they should notify the teacher, who can make this seat assignment.

Student Safety
As indicated in the DACC Student Handbook, DACC has for safety purposes, a surveillance system at both North and South Campuses to assist with the safety and security of our students and staff.

We ask that students wear their id badges at all times while at DACC. HR Imaging will start badge creation for incoming students and returnees during the first two weeks of school.

Both campuses utilize an intercom system to allow visitors to access the building. We welcome parents and the general public, but we seek to strike a balance between access and visitation as that relates to student safety. Parents must show identification upon entering our buildings.
Transcripts Needed for Home Schooled Students

Students that are home schooled are asked to provide a transcript or verification of educational progress to DACC within the first two weeks of the 2018-2019 school year.

This information is critical for consideration for recognition such as National Technical Honor Society, scholarship opportunities, progress toward graduation, etc.

School Lunches
School lunch menus will be posted each month on the DACC web site here.

Please review our cafe meal guidelines, including what happens if your account is out of money and how to receive notifications of a low balance on your account.
Student Handbook
The Delaware Area Career Center will issue an electronic Student Handbook to all high school students.  The electronic version of the Student Handbook can be accessed starting August 2018 through the district website at  www.delawareareacc.org and is available on each individual student Google dashboard.
We are thrilled that your child has selected the Delaware Area Career Center! We look forward to working with you and your son/daughter towards an exciting educational experience.

We will plan to see you at our DACC Welcome Night for schedule pick-up, August 16, 2018 from 4:30 pm-7:30 pm.

DACC guidance counselors can be contacted at (740) 363-1993 to discuss any scheduling concerns after the August 16th schedule pick-up night.  If you are unable to attend this event, we will have schedules available at both campuses on the first day of school.

Sincerely,

David Gilliam
