Reeling In Due To COVID-19
In response to the new guidelines from the State and County Departments of Health, as well as recommendations from health professionals, the following changes will be made regarding Emmanuel Church COVID-19 protocols:
- The church office will be closed until further notice. Phone messages and email messages will be checked frequently. Call 818-843-0900. Ext. 100, or email info@emmanuelburbank.org.
- The church staff will be working from home as much as possible, with the exception of the custodians, who will work individually according to their schedules.
- There will be no indoor meetings -- of any type -- held in the church facilities until further notice.
- Outdoor meetings will be allowed -- up to 10 people -- with appropriate social distancing, masks, and no physical contact protocols. Schedule with Emmanuel's Facilities Director Matt Hiett at matt@emmanuelburbank.org.
- Online worship services, Bible studies, and other content is still available on the Emmanuel Church YouTube channel (click here).

Emmanuel's 30-Day Bible Reading
It's not too late to join, as we -- as a church body -- unite together in experiencing God's Word!
United in God's Word is 30 days of reading Scripture verses together (
click here for the reading list). The time period for
United in God's Word is
July 13 - August 11.
On Wednesdays -- starting tomorrow,
July 15 -- from 7 to 8 p.m., we'll have weekly discussions led by Emmanuel staff and elders via Zoom (
use this link). This week's discussion will be facilitated by Emmanuel's Worship & Music Minister Billye Johnstone. Each week will cover the verses from Thursday to Wednesday.

WORSHIP ONLINE WITH COMMUNION: This coming
Sun., July 19, during our Worship Service, we'll take communion together (remotely). Prepare before the service begins, and to represent the body and blood of Christ, use bread- and juice-type elements you already have available at home. By the reading of Scripture, expression of our faith, and saying of prayers over them, the Holy Spirit makes the elements representative and sacred in our observance.
Our online Worship Service is held via livestream on Sundays at 9:30 a.m., at our Emmanuel Church Burbank YouTube Channel. Or go to YouTube and search for "Emmanuel Church Burbank."
NEED HELP GETTING ONLINE?
If you need help setting up your phone, computer, or other devices to access our church online offerings through YouTube, Zoom, or Facebook, contact Kathy Lew at kathy.lew@emmanuelburbank.org. She can arrange help setting up your technology over the phone, in your home, or at the church office. Don't miss out -- it is much easier than you think!
EC TO HOST BLOOD DRIVE: Emmanuel Church will host a blood drive on Mon., Aug, 3, and Tues., Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The blood drive is being run by Cedars Sinai Hospital. Anyone who donates blood will also receive a COVID antibody test, as well as identification of your blood type. Details coming soon on how to reserve your day and time.
