Honoring Humanities Work Throughout Michigan
Greetings!

This summer, as I enjoy reading my way through the 2020 Michigan Notables book list, I have been thinking about our beautiful state and all it offers. Though the pandemic has temporarily halted our festivals, fairs, and other public events, we are so lucky to have the beauty of our bountiful lakes and natural landscapes. I marvel at what healing powers nature has, and I don’t think life gets much better than a great book at sunrise.

In addition to our record grant-making this year, we are reshaping our remaining funds and programs to address present issues in our state. Look for additional information coming soon! We also hope you will support our work this month by considering a gift. While we are funded generously by the National Endowment for the Humanities, a match is required, and we have more requests for funding and programs than we can fulfill. Your donation makes all the difference. Visit michiganhumanities.org/donate if you wish to donate now, and thank you for your consideration. We consider our work to be a great privilege, and one we hold with purpose and care.

Enjoy your summer, and reach out to us at any time. We value your wisdom and collaboration.
