Katie Kinnison preaching

Dear Covenant friends and family,
Sometimes we assume that what the people around us are saying must make sense. After all, when good people are on the same page, isn't that sufficient evidence that they must be speaking truth, on track, wanting the right things?
But the deeper we go in life, the further we go on the path of loving, the more we begin to question some of the common parlance, the conventional wisdom.
Was wanting a messiah like King David the right thing to want?
Our scripture this week takes us into more details about this ancient king of Israel, this proto-type messiah. More knowledge can shift our perspective and open up new possibilities. Looking at the whole of David's life again has given me a new perspective on the Messiah who actually showed up, on what it means to claim that this Jesus from Nazareth is Lord.
Join us Sunday, and we'll see what you think. May the Living God give us eyes to see and hearts to love.

Yours in that hope,
Katie
