BREWSTER DAY CAMP          Newsletter    August 5th, 2018        Vol. 36 Issue 16

Hello Brewster Day Camp!

We experience EXCITEMENT everyday! EXCITEMENT is a feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness. EXCITEMENT can fuel our most fun experiences, and cause a feeling of great anticipation. By recognizing our own EXCITEMENT, we can energize ourselves and those around us. At BDC, EXCITEMENT is everywhere!

As I walk around camp, I see EXCITEMENT abound at BDC! As soon as they hop out of their cars in the parking lot, BDC campers are EXCITED to get into camp and play with their friends, learn new skills, and grow as individuals. As I observe our camp day, this EXCITEMENT is visible on every face that I see, young and old. Mariners Hill tent groups show their EXCITEMENT by singing camp songs on their walk from one activity to the next. Campers on Sailors Hill demonstrate their EXCITEMENT by proudly wearing their achievement beads around their necks which they earn at each activity. Our oldest campers on Admirals Hill are EXCITED to challenge themselves at every activity by completing their AHAA. At BDC, campers and staff of all ages role model EXCITEMENT everywhere you look!

This week's special event on Friday is Carnival Day! Each tent group is responsible for running a carnival station, and campers are EXCITED to use the Carnival Day tickets that their tent group earns to participate in other carnival stations around camp! This is an EXCITING Special Event Day run by kids, for kids! How excellent is that?!

Get excited and enthusiastic about your own dream. This excitement is like a forest fire - you can smell it, taste it, and see it from a mile away.
